    Same man Corkman,JM still has some of the same stuff,he lives about half hour away from me but he had a heart attack a few year back and does not do as much as he used to.Some of that particular stuff came very big,half a litter could be just right and the other half like wheatens.     Blacks/ Chocs..... Same thing really. Most white dog men would not go out of their way to go down that route. Just simply not their thing. Not to say some men are not as particular as others about their breeding and have dropped some good red fell/bull x into "their" white dogs and then bred back to white again. Plenty of related white dogs of good standard down this way as to not force most to go outside the white family.     Could not fault the dog we got[bLUE] he was a very good worker and took no prisoners.GE had a lakeland dog years ago[blackntan] that was rated a very good dog.I put him across a lakey bitch i had but she did not hold,pity as when she was bred previous she through a very good litter.

    Does anyone on here remember a black dog called 1 eyed Bob belonging to GE from meath originaly GB,he was rated as 1 hell of a dog by anyone that seen him dug to,i had the plesure of seeing him dug and he was the buisness,GE bred some very good dogs.I bought a 3 year old worker of him a few year back and could not fault the dog,worked exactly as i was told and bought very reasonable for a working terrier,sadly lost to ground same season.

    Know of a springer that is a very good gundog but will also slip down the 1st earth he comes on that is occupied,also remember an auld boy that i lived beside many years ago that had 2 blue roan cockers.He used these dogs mostly for rough shooting and duck shooting on ponds but in the end he had to be carefull where he was shooting as they would go to ground at the slightest chance if something was at home and they were not fussy about who or what was in.

    Neil not one to disagree with you but he was here very early early 80s as was RB who dug to that dog a lot + the man that had he dog and he was not the dog he was was claimed to be.

    What breeding was the 1st of the patterdales to arrive in EIRE,i can remember a dog in Co Meath called johnson,Nuttal bred and that was around late 70s early 80s and had never heard of any other strains of black terrier before that.Then PK started bringing them in and that is where i aquired my 1st black dog.I do remember lakeland type terriers earlier but they were local bred dogs but identical to the lakey's of today.

    Gnasher you should make it your buisness to watch a good game of hurling,eg,Kilkenny v tipperary then try watching a game of soccer and it dont matter who is playing,its like watching paint dry after watching a hurling game,and the biggest laugh is the lads that play hurling do so for the love of the game,THEY DONT GET PAID,unlike lets say the premiership,they get nothing.

    Rex was the dog i seen with JY,and yes he was a good dog,big strong dog.was he bred to much bitches forgot to ask Jim last time I was talking to him I seen 1 bitch,daughter to rex,chap in Mullingar had her,nothing special,moderate fox bitch but i believe he was put to a few bitchs from the Kildare area.
