Seen pups that were bred a few year ago that were very undershot but in no way did it effect them from working, imo people nowadays show more interest in what a terrier looks like rather than if its a good worker.Nothing wrong with a terrier that looks the part and also works well but it would not bother me in the slightest if it was the ugliest dog in the land as long as it works.I have 2 litter sisters here,1 nice type of bitch the other stumpy little f****r but both do whats asked of them and there is no favourites.

Good days work, dont know what the weather was like where you are but over here its pissing down since early morn, great weather to get fox's to ground although its very mild at the minute.
-
I reckon mine are all deaf as when you try to call them up when out they just ignore me,lol.
-
I dread to think what the outcome would have been but when we got the russells out and away up the field we entered a bitch of mine and dug her about 20yds away from where we dug the russells and she was with the quarry.

Yes FD a graveyard, lol. The graveyard is an old spot from the time of the English landlords over here. The estate is 2200 acres but the graveyard is in the middle of a huge tillage field, several graves in it and also a tomb, all people buried in it ar of the same surname si it was a family place,we get 2-3 digs there each season.
-
There pets and belong to a woman but they keep going awol everytime she lets them out.
-
No nothing with them unless it moved while we were diging as we dug it afterwards with another dog.
-
We taught he was loosing it,lol, nice russells they were.

We were out this morn for a dig local to me.My diging partner and his mate arrived with me around 9 and after a cuppa we set of for the area we planned to work. The 1st earth we tried i collared up mt little black bitch FIZZ and she was away with the lurcher giving us a good mark. This earth is a rangey spot but not deep and after about 20min we got a steady mark at 1mtr so down we went and broke in with Fizz well in control, tided up there and on to next place. This is a graveyard in the middle of a big tillage field in an estate that holds 2 earths with another just outside the graveyard in the

There's a man made shore that we do and have done for years with great success.A couple of year back we put a dog of mine in [LUGS] and he bolted a fox but the lurchers missed it and it got back in the shore again. This shore was usually a straight forward affair,in 1 end out the other, about 100yds in lenght. The lads again took up positions with the lurchers but this time after half an hour nothing so on with the locater to find the terrier.I moved up and down the lenght of the shore but not a thing, not even the slightest mark.We then decided that it had to be the locater that was f****d as the

The dog done what it had to do,bolted the fox, next step is a nice handy dig to him, something simple,30 minute job and keep him winning for his 1st season no need to rush him,as has been said so many times its easy enter them but even easier to spoil a good dog.

Best rabbiting dog i have seen was a 3/4 collie 1/4 whippet, would pick rabbits all night long on the lamp, enough speed and could turn on a sixpence and could judge a rabbit keeping them out from the hedge and safety.

Shot my 1st of the season on sunday eve and saw 3 same eve, will go especially for woodcock in a couple of wks when the weather gets a touch colder and with a bit of luck dryer.

Correct D,i remember Joe saying it took big game at a very young age and he was very pleased with him,dog died young far as i remember.
-
Do you remember the lurcher pups Joe took back with him from me,DHXGH,think Joe's pup was a big rough fawn coloured dog,i kept back the only smooth coated pup in the litter,a blue brindle coloured dog, turned out a good dog.
-
What the f**k you on about now Pabs, you been on the razz again.
-
Like that brindle dog, smashing animal,i owned a blue-brindle years back, dhxgh, only smooth pup that was in the litter thats why i kept him back.He was a good all round dog, loads of speed and game aswell.
-
No machines Pabs,just decent terriers.
-
Seem to forget about the rain when the terrier is geting sport.
-
Duck or hen egg and answer truthfully,no porkies.
-
Neil cooney dose'nt even keep terriers, its all in his head, have you not heard that every time he runs out of his pills he thinks hes a terrier man and is on here straight away giving advice, heed nothing he says or posts,ps learn the laws of terrier work before you decide to start diging.

Yeah know what your saying,as i said have not seen or even know of a good lakey in a long time. The little bitch i had would never win a show but she was an honest working bitch and worked up until she was 11-12 year old.She also through a few good pups the couple of times she was bred, some that went on to make a good name for themselves working wise. She was put to a dog called FRITZ once,he was 3/4 lakey 1/4 fell and she had 5 pups which all worked and worked well,1 of which was Bonzo who was a right good dog but alas there all well gone now and i dont even know of any lakeys about anymore let
