  1. Can't say I gave up working hard to hunt. I don't mind working hard for a goal but I like to see an end in sight. As for the smoking, I gave that up years ago to keep fit for the kickboxing and freediving but as above, I still love the green cookies yum yum!! Never gave that up and I reckon I'd still walk most folk into the ground in spite of my age.
  2. He's starting to look quite rangy. Should be a handsome mutt.
  3. She has access to acres of grass and we have done raw and packet food. She is now on Arden Grange at he moment which seems to help, I have another lurcher who is he thieving git and will eat everything left around or not locked away and he is healthy so if she ate anything he would have had it first. There's something you can try. It's a long shot, but why not feed her a couple of ginger biscuits three times a day. What will that do?????
  4. You can say that again! My deer/grey bitch has classic good feet and has run some of the roughest land in Ireland with no injuries. A couple of months ago she sprained a toe just playing in the sea, running in and out of the surf, a thing she's done regularly all her life. Having said that I noticed straight away and with "zheng gu shui" and 5 weeks rest she was soon sound with very little difference showing in the knuckle. More or less same injury happened to my old dog.. Tendon never healed true and her toe splayed off to left.. Foot looked awful but she grafted on to a ri

  6. Someone ought to tell Northernlight about that add, aren't they his kind of thing ??
  7. I think they're getting desperate. They've had em up for a while now unless it's a different litter. They seem to keep churning them out anyway but while heartbeat is a popular series there must surely be a limit to the number of people who want a clone of the dog from it? Maybe not, I really have trouble understanding what makes other people tick most of the time.
  8. I use Gain Record Breaker which goes down OK but I only give a small bowlful daily between 4 dogs, the rest of their food being various types of raw meat and bone.
  9. Hope they get down soon. That can be bad enough. At least you know they're there.
  10. Lamb ribs are good and fatty. I get them free from a butcher who has an abbatoir. Breasts of lamb are good too but tend to be too expensive for dogs these days.

  12. http://wildirishgame.ie/ Only one I can find and it's in Wicklow FFS. Even worse. I think they need you to be certified before they'll accept game off you too. You're better having a few private customers on the QT. I've heard rumours of culled deer being bulldozed under in Kerry because they can't be sold legally. If that's true it's disgraceful in my opinion.
  13. I've no idea Bob, it wouldn't be worth my while to take rabbits up. I saw that dealer on the net. I'll see if I can spot it for you.
  14. Because of the Gulf Stream I would say Ireland's climate is milder than the UKs, on average and all Gun Clubs in Eire last year were informed of the fur market. A mild climate isn't what you want. Pelts only get thicker when the weather gets colder and that's why Canada and Alaska produce well.
  15. Where is buying at those prices Neil? PM if you like. (Plenty of foxes and mink round here!)
  16. Bob mate, one of the biggest problems with this is selling what you catch. With recent legislation all game carcasses to be sold on are supposed to be passed disease free by someone qualified and also the number of game dealers in Ireland is nothing like that in UK.For example, I live in West Cork and my nearest game dealer is in Tipperary so that's the first problem to be got around. Next thing, whether rabbit, hare, fox or deer, any place you hunt regularly and bag up will soon be cleaned out so you'd need to think well ahead. I wouldn't say it's impossible but in My opinion it's better to
  17. Plenty of people are pumping pasta and brown bread into there dogs.not many mention feeding plenty of fat The more knowledgeable ones do.
  18. A fine dog and he's going to make a good height too. You must be happy with him, I know I would.
  19. Redmills tracker is designed as a mixer food and is mainly cereals. I wouldn't feed it to pups.
  20. Never would've had you down as a Minshaw man Bosun . Nice hound.
  21. And yet that's how the fen dog was created, by adding saluki blood to the lurcher, to increase stamina and drive.......and that's how the lines of coursing greyhound were created, by Lord Orford adding bull blood to what they had then to "fire it up" a bit. In fact that's how all lurchers were originally created, by adding something to running dogs to alleviate perceived faults in a dog that was otherwise OK. The main thing as I see it is to make sure the blood you add is tested at what it does. When you talk about fen dogs or lord Orfords Greyhounds, Pit bull terriers,Bull greyhounds,c

  23. Yes, the young ones can get it quite bad if it's on the ground.
