  1. LOOKOUT POODLES here we come. Seriously I think going into poodles may be a crime??
  2. most of the stuff he breeds now is bred down from his old stuff , what do you reckoms gone wrong ? The food he feeds now is a poor quality cheap bag food whereas he used to cook up cheap meat, tripes etc and mix with cereals. Also the stock he has bred down from the old stock hasn't been tested at all between generations. Either of these could make a difference but some half decent dogs still do come from there. I have to agree though, that some of the pups seem ribby and poor these days.
  3. If you go out to a restaurant for a nice meal it's been cooked for ££££ mate. Simple as that. Scrounge round some bins or go to a mates house and you may get some snap for nowt. Your choice really.
  4. The vast majority of dogs of whatever breed that have been bred DELIBERATELY go for 400 or more. Why should a fella breeding lurchers have to give his pups away free? Now if he wants to do that so they go to homes he knows then that's fine but if he want's to cash in on the work he's put into the parents and the planning of the litter why shouldn't he??? They're his pups and he can ask whatever he wants for them. If you don't want one don't buy one and if you want a free one go to someone who's giving them away. Simple really.
  5. If you don't want to pay 300 don't buy one. As for getting kicked off the page it's hardly surprising, is it? It's a page for people who wan't to share their Hancock dogs' good points so of course they kicked you off.
  6. You've got to feel sorry for Kylie. She must spend a fortune on clothes yet still ends up with a pair of shorts that get stuck up her butcrack.

      Rudeboy 1

I wa brought up by my grand parents i  was taught to be relatively well mannered  i am a mardy boy Maerdy bred and I'm proud to be a  Maerdy boy I went to school in Maerdy  i boxed as a junior and senior for Maerdy so I think that makes me a Maerdy person. Now then I apologise to anyone if I've come across as rude it was unintentional from my side of the coin. However having said that those who has given it the big un then expect  it back.Back in the days  I was breeding whippet x greyhounds  a hybrid  that was a luxury to me a running dog that was widely reputed in the u.k...obviously to certain individuals who seemingly chose to like such a longdog as the whippet/ greyhound/ longdog/ hybrid. There are devoted people in vigorously involved with the longdogs i once bred and those certain individuals who swap and change their lurcher or longdogs like no tomorrow.....Trial merchants whom I regard as folk that are typically undecided as to whether they are happy with a particular lurcher or longdog....to be perfectly honest and truthful with readers of this forum you clearly have no doubt as to what I mean .just enjoy your kind of fieldwork with your type of ? in sport Carl Williams.

  7. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet but today was a historic day with the last coalmine in England being closed down. I'm sure a few on here worked in the pits before. My father was a hewer in Ashington then in Bates' pit in Blyth and my mothers father was a propper and packer starting work at 14 years old. I avoided working in the mines myself but among my childhood memories are the smell of sulphurous smouldering pitheaps, catching toads in yellow streams and the smell of the puffers shunting coals to the staithes to load into ships. I don't regret the passing of the mines but I'm s
  8. The "orangyness" of the fur along with the small size make it a weasle. At a glance a stoat is more brown and a weasle more orangey brown. Just to complicate things there are only stoats over here in Ireland but for some reason they are known as weasels, just as a stone wall is called a ditch.
  9. Me neither. I've looked occasionally on my wifes account and, it amazes me how much people say on there. Anything you say and all the info give when you register is not retrievable, not deletable.... ever. Not even if you close your account. They still keep it all.
  10. I find that if you're lamping an area with stone walls and the moon is full and bright they'll often jump straight over or onto the wall rather than run up and down it.
  11. The tripod seems to be still available in some places http://www.triard.co.uk/tools/sealey/lighting-power/lighting/lanterns-spotlights-torches/sealey-ml100-tripod-quartz-halogen-spotlight-12v-1.5million-ca.html
  12. Most people who cowl their lamp to reduce side glare are not so much interested in what the game sees as in what someone half a mile away might notice. Back in the days of car lamps I used a marvel milk tin with the bottom "tin openered" off, painted black, then taped to the front of the lamp.
  13. Back in the 70's I saw a bitch run on Salisbury Plain, that was bred from a deer/grey to a pharaoh hound. (not an ibizan, I know but similar). She was a nice looking bitch and ran well for a youngster but as Tomo say's, she yapped while running.
  14. The man seemed to have problems homing them which I thought was a bit sad. The GWP is one of the least spoiled of gundog breeds, being mostly kept and bred for work.
  15. Can he still use his back legs a little bit Malc? I used to have a whippet who lost the use of her back legs completely in a similar accident. For a few months I carried her back end with a scarf under her belly 'til her toes started to twitch again, then gradually the legs came back. She got to where she could run about again but never got complete recovery as she couldn't turn like she used to. If he can still walk a bit I'd say there's some chance of a full recovery in time. Best of luck mate, my thoughts are with you.
  16. Same as he said above, much lighter than expected.
  17. Did he catch that "rabbit" in the background??
  18. I think what he's on about is letting a stranger see your dog work. I know I wouldn't, not for a stud fee anyway. If I wanted a pup off it I might but mostly the only people I'd hunt with are family or very close friends. Anyone else could so easily be more trouble than it's worth. (Boomerangs, dog thefts etc.) Just my opinion but I've been there, done that.
