  1. Skycat's neighbour keeps this cross and sometimes breeds a litter. I can't remember his name on here but Skycat might know.
  2. collie whippet deerhound beddi grey, and that's for sure . Did you get her from a bit south of Boston?
  3. Yeh but don't forget,,,our fuel costs around £5 per gallon,,,,,what are you guys paying,,,I bet it's half what we pay If ive got my facts right and calculated it right they are paying a maximum of 45 English pence per litre. Vs our £1 plus a litre. Yearly low has been 36 English pence per litre. I would have a V8 if fuel prices were that low. Lol. I know quite a few guys that mix their own fuel. There are piles of videos on YT that describe how to do it. We're talking diesel, not gas. You can use just quite a long list of oils for this. Piss on the fuel stations you don't need
  4. Next time you take a snap of him, crouch down so the camera's level with his shoulder. I'd like to see a good side on pic of him. As Fuji said, what a heed he's got!!!
  5. Probably last longer than the lamp would too.
  6. Must get hold of some old tea chests and start knocking up a row of kennels at the weekend.
  7. they said that about the bullx and the salukix way back when. I think its just human nature to try and "discover" something new or just to be different. Personally, I like many of these primitive herding/farm dogs believe that they may have something different to add to the lurcher gene puddle. I agree. There is no 100% tried and tested allrounder. All the crosses have their own failings. I like the look of Bunnies' litter myself but they may lack takeoff/early pace for some jobs. I'd still have one though. I think they'll be toppers in the right hands.
  8. I look forward to seeing what this one looks like when he muscles up and hearing how he goes in the field. I know it's an unusual cross but to me there's some possibilities there. Bet he has a strong bite too.
  9. You lot have turned this thread into a bull cross argument. Dan's already said he doesn't want bullcrosses as he hunts a variety of quarry and I'd take that to mean that a bullcross would get dead quickly. From his posts in the past, coyote aren't his main quarry. I'd say either cross (1/2 or 1/4) could learn to stand back waiting it's chance, especially if it saw other dogs doing that.
  10. Don't know if it's still the same but they used to be encouraged to chase and bite a piece of rope trailed behind a fleeing volunteer. As the pup got bigger the rope could be wrapped round the volunteer's arm until the bite was too much and a padded sleeve or suit was needed.
  11. Chase and get hold it looks like??? After all, that's what security dogs are expected to do and it's why they make a good cross for chase, grab and rough'n tumble.
  12. Avensis 2 litre tdi estate. Comfortable, a bit of space for dogs, catch, tools, any firewood I spot laying around and if it's driven smoothly it gets around 5 litres per 100 kilometres (47 to the gallon). Less around town, more like 35 to 40 mpg then. More comfortable for carrying people than a van too but once I'm on rough roads and tracks I often wish I'd bought a landy. Especially with the way the prices ( of landrovers) are going up.
  13. That definately looks like a posed picture for sure. Don't know what the wagon weighed but I think the horse would struggle to move it far and going down any hill would be a nightmare.
  14. I had one these experiences down your way and grabbed a eletric fence aswell lol If you did that it wouldn't be the fan that the shit was hitting.
  15. Not unless Bristol's just sailed across the Irish sea.
  16. The fawn bitch is nice too but I'm one of those that love brindles.
  17. That one at the bottom of the first batch looks like they're down the disco
  18. I'm surprised no-one's replied to this yet. I always got the impression that he was a favourite dog for a lot of coursing people.
  19. They say pregnant mothers listening to and getting pleasure from music makes the unborn baby more likely to enjoy music and be musical. Maybe something similar might happen here. Experiencing the controlled excitement of hunting before they're even born via their mothers bloodstream/hormones/adrenaline. Shouldn't do any harm anyway. I'm sure you'll know when she's too far gone for it.
  20. Same as Neil said above and dogs that retrieve rabbits (cottontails) alive are fairly common (both or mine do) most dogs will kill hares (or jackrabbits) as they kick a lot and scratch the dogs face. Some do develop a knack of carrying hares without getting scratched or bitten but they are rare. Again, both of mine kill hares as soon as they catch them.
