  1. Plenty of time to buy the Putanges then, what other possible reason could there be to go to France :boogy:
  2. no Iam not a cowboy you don't no me so don't try judge me I have some permission where it is infested with hares and I have been snaring them but wondered if they was away of getting them alive in a cage type trap as the a lot of birds of pray what damages a few of the hares what av been snared What`s a bird of pray!!!!!? is it one that goes to church
  3. Bryn, its sensible to plan outings around fine weather, it really should be the law
  4. My pest control days are when not on my full time job, so have to go out in all weathers anyway, if I get wet, well i curse myself for doing such a dumb job, when the sunshines I love it, its the best job ever
  5. 4 x tunnel traps arrived today from WMA, well made, good weight about 1/2"/ 10cm plywood 2 for mk 4 fenns and 2 for mk 6 Cost £86 delivered, which did not think was too bad, given my woodworking skills :bye: All put against tax anyway
  6. Digby, Have you tried SHOWA 377 Gloves? Ian B had recommended them, there about £5 a pair, but fantastic, hard wearing. At first think they will be poor on dexterity, but no they are really good and very tough
  7. Been having a look today, this one is in the price bracket now at £400 Yukon Photon XT 4.6x42 Digital Night VisionHas anyone got one, know how good they are? Hopefully be an investment for the future and don`t want to have to buy again (ever)
  8. Been shooting rats with the air rifle & deben mini pro which is ok. Would like to upgrade to NV, but since its only a few rats I am shooting would at this stage keep costs down. Any advice on what to go for? ATB
  9. Digby, I also have the Gel knee pads from band q, my slight criticism is when the velcro straps get " gunked" up with mud they dont stick very well, particulary when using in dry weather and no over trousers on. Apart from that they are very comfortable and cushioned
  10. Got some new Dickies workwear trousers, 2 pairs delivered for £30, put in their knee pads - really pleased, And when raining have Dickies rainlite waterproof/breathable over trousers, for the cost all great
  11. Or http://www.wma-shop.co.uk/ourshop/ not purchased from them but look ok
  12. Hazardous waste, which all rodenticide/pesticides come under needs a traceable trail for disposal.Unless of course your not a professional then double bagging in the domestic bin is alright. ??? There are companies out there who will take your waste away for you at a charge, is there a pet crematorium near you? they may be able to incinerate the waste for you? atb
  13. Fourteenacre.co.uk they will sort you out, recommend the Woodga Snaring DVD as well
  14. Have just ordered some tunnel traps from them, should be arriving on Monday, paid via Paypal so should be ok. My woodwork skills not great, don`t even have a vice.hence buying them in. Will let you know the quality when here atb
  15. If you get stuck or need more info then the BASC Handbook will defo help. Has trap placement, making mink raft, how to identify mink and otter paw prints, legislation etc. A good book to have atb atb
  16. I`m not sure there really is an answer when I cant catch a mole. Dont think I do anything different at each trapping site, but one particular mole on a farm where I have trapped over 60 took 6 visits, duffus and talpa traps set but this mole just knew something was up? Maybe in the end he/she just gave up playing the game and joined their fellow colleagues in mole heaven. It is baffling as to why this happens, its just one of the joys of mole trapping - trapper v mini beast
  17. Have a word with Harry Potter, may have a potion for Levitation!! If you could bring the ground up to waist level, then that will reduce any knee problems :boogy: Perhaps on a more serious note, wear leggings -prolonged cold & wet knees and pain go together, wear good quality knee pads, reduce your age, bet you never had any problems aged 20 or 30. I had a cartlidge repair to my knee a couple of years ago, told my knee was a grade 3, asked if that was good? Consultant said they only go up to grade 4, oh dear
  18. Hori Hori Knives are sold as general garden tool/knife. They are very good all rounder knives. Had mine from Amazon about £20 Always buy a knife at the charity shops for my mole work, still do occasionally always good to have a spare, just in case......... the amount of times I have gone to put trap in only to find that have left the knife/tools at last trap site
  19. I believe that the MK I, II and III had all been used during Fenn trials and have since been replaced by the mk 4 and 6. why no number 5? Im sure others will be able to add to this, there is an article about Fenns on the "origins of trapping" - Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust ATB
  20. Guess I get about 90-100% on farmers fields, but no guarantees. Currently charging per mole on a farm, makes me much more economic with trap placement as do not want to waste traps in an area with probably just one mole. In the past with paid per visit jobs would put in plenty of traps to clear an area before moving on
  21. Have a look in the killgerm or barretine catalogues/online these traps will be ok for your needs. Others places sell them but want a good strong cage and a foot plate to closes the door behind quickly atb why trap live? Have you thought about using bodygrips/fenns??
  22. Different traps work in different situations, a well placed putange under a patio slab works far better there than the duffus
  23. The only place is Flatpack, great traps, great spring will not let you down
