  1. Have you a local pet crematorium nearby (check on yell) they may well be able to dispose of your waste for you by incineration
  2. Was considering last year getting the XL8 Lance for wasps but seems expensive for a few pieces of fibre glass tubing! Andthe need to buy the DR5 Duster Any one using them? Are they better than my trusted DustStick that is still going strong after 15 years
  3. You dont get stung if you wear overalls under the beesuit, this is what I do, stings dont get through
  4. Thats exactly what I do....have you been spying on me?? Could do with a seperate pinned column where folk can post tips and hints on, could help each others with novel ideas (just like the one I stole from you Darcy )
  5. Trapping works, if you have a partnership with the farmer, so that he/she can check traps on the days your not about. That way will not fall foul of any wildlife law where an animal may suffer. TOP TIP When using fenn traps in purpose made tunnels, I drill a little hole in the side of box, attach a cable tie to the set trap which then pokes out of this hole. If the farmer checks simply for the presence of the cable tie and does not see it, then trap has sprung and calls me in, simple but effective :boogy:
  6. Don`t join the queue just yet!! The "juice" is not 100% guaranteed, correct trap placement also helps, guess it probably helps having the trap in the right place??
  7. Had a look as well, I have learned something already, that I bury my traps for months to get rid of the smell of metal and that I charge £40+ per mole.
  8. My childhood sweetheart was a mole This thread has really made me laugh
  9. Regarding metal detectors - indeed you do get what you pay for, but saying that I have a modest Garrett ACE 250, Have found loads of coins, traps when i lose them, but helps if you have a rough idea of where you think it is. Finding traps can be a slow old game, depends what else may be burried where you a searching, you can filter out items your not looking for, and I will familiarise myself with the noise the detector makes when hovering over a trap before searching, that way you will be in tune with what your searching for. Sometimes I will metal detect mole hills, can find buried t
  10. 2 jobs in the last 24 hours for wasps, both in bird boxes, were in fact bumble bee nests. A little education and assurances that they won`t sting & standing next to the box to prove the point, the bees remain happy (and alive) Frustrating when one of the "wasp jobs" was a round trip of 30 miles & end with No Dosh for my troubles
  11. As long as you find rodent activity during your inspection you can carry on using past the 35 guideline (it is only a guideline, not law) + perhaps write down what else you are doing to gain control, then guess you could have bait down longer. Could always put break back traps in external/internal boxes
  12. Cheers since I have ready made tunnels and fenns that is what I will use
  13. Have had a phone call to help control stoats around some poultry. I guess it would be same type of control as for rats, but just in case not will ask, "Whats the best way to control"? Fenn traps in tunnels with a egg as bait?
  14. You have all been worried about dear old Matt, so been out searching the wilds of Devon. Found him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :boogy: :boogy: :boogy: :boogy: :boogy:
  15. Funny enough we drove the van up a couple of those mountains, as you say get out mole hills everywhere? Those gamme verte are very interesting! Lots of traps, hunting gear etc, unfortunately the wife came in with me and found stuff she can't in the UK, that got expensive!!! Shame Shropshire mole didn't tell us we were meeting up for you to sell me traps, I wouldn't have needed to go in there. Lol. Good trip, can't wait to be back in September. Sorry MT forgot to tell you that you were meeting NP, LOL
  16. Agree, if the trap entrance was bigger, then would be easier for fox to enter and get trapped!!!
  17. Mazperks you and everyone else apart from 2 on here are baffled how you catch a adult fox in a 6" trap. Magic?
  18. since most of us here had no idea what the kist trap was/is then your market to sell them will be very limited. So if you had a full description of the kist trap and dimensions and how to use, then, just may be sales would increase, maybe some on here would consider a purchase. Personally I am still baffled as to how to use. The end
  19. Hmmmm the name of the eBay seller rings a bell! Perhaps his originating post should have said "hi made a kist trap today and am selling a few.. good idea?" Or trying desperately to sell just one of my poorly made mini traps  And call it something that nearly all of Britain has never heard of. Its a great idea
  20. JD can you say who the other company is that are sending you traps?
