  1. Magnum Traps sell their own "Talpa" traps at £5:88 inc vat with a £5 carrage charge per order, min of 10 traps. Want 40 traps then its £4:90 each and no postage
  2. Bloody useful though, can carry/drag 30 duffus with a seperate pouch for pegs and 2 smaller pockets for flask/gloves/tools etc
  3. As I read these threads, have just thought that I put my cheque in the post this morning to Magnum Traps for 20 of their Talpa traps, Need to conquer my poor catch results, so every job can have a couple of talpas
  4. Perhaps Darcy that is because you have yet to write it
  5. Another useful book for back ground info, laws etc
  6. Its a shame there is not a market for mole skin/fur
  7. I ordered direct from France - Roman Labartories. Cost about £32 delivered 16 traps and setting pliers. Website is obviously all in french but use google translater and your sorted
  8. String is String Tell you what though, don`t think the putange will take over from the dear old duffus, there fiddly to set quickly, but may have a place when only surface runs are present on a customers lawn Time will tell
  9. You could go on a paid course designed for folk like yourself? So you have read books/videos, you now know where the trap should go and how to find the run?? Ask a farmer/anyone else with moles if you can practice for free at catching them. Keep doing this in different situations so that your practice includes pasture, stony soils, tree roots etc etc. Get good, get confident Read more books to bolster your new knowledge. Practice Practice and more Practice its the only way
  10. Oh sorry, you probably don`t understand such a big word - prat, after all it does have 4 letters
  11. Muddy, You really don`t warrant a reply...................... you missed the point, its the farmer who has asked me not to use traps, its his land, he makes the decisions, he pays me, maybe I should have worded it better. Maybe its true, I`m an idiot, after all I am trying to justify myself to a complete prat, who needs to use rather naff words to get his point across
  12. Fair points Matt, luckily for me there seems very few mole catchers around, i`ve never been busier. In fact would say that I am to busy, but equally don`t like to turn work down
  13. Did not say I agreed, just what I read. Fact!! No one has any idea of numbers, apart from more than 24, since thats the number I pulled out of the ground today
  14. So here is my very first Putange caught mole ( Sorry Matt, better not tell you how I laid the trap in the run, the competition may be watching - :D ) Having pink string is cheating, the mole thinks its food, unfair advantage
  15. So Matt why you scared to post your answer? With an estimated 62 million moles in UK (read in a paper last year, i think) think there is enough for all Cant keep them all to yourself, thats a bit greedy
  16. Folk on here seem to rave about the talpex, I dont seem to catch much with them. I just use the duffus and experimenting with a few putange Have tried placing soil around the trap, have covered over so that no soil is in the trap. There are times that the trap just does not fit snugly and wobbles about Is there a proper sure fire way of setting the traps? or at least what is your prefered method for big catches
  17. So tell us about your service then? What traps Prices etc etc So we can spread the word
  18. Since moles need to eat a lot of worms daily for survival, I think they are more interested in catching food than the full layout of the runs
  19. Defo main runs to feeding ground works best. Saying that I am doing a few fields that are large and flat, been chain harrowed so can see where new activity is. I am catching moles all over the fields. I guess that since there are loads of moles they cant all have a piece of hedge to live along and feed in the field
