spot on, i give beef knuckle bones once a week, and i clean them once a month, got finger holder that like thimble , rub this on with dog tooth paste, and there not to bad. true, when i done couple seasons beating at Weston park , there was one bloke who had collie x grey , that was very good at beating, it looked more like pure collie really, the lad said it had greyhound in it , but nothing like old bryn as in him he 1x, so it be easy dog to train for beating i reckon. both my dogs are biddable , but there no way in hell could i call Buck off , if a deer or fox if the got up, he wouldnt stop it till he killed it , or it got away . that lad dog think was just ferrting type dog. true never thought of that, and there not cheap by all accounts if you get a good'un, with my big dog Buck he kill out beam quite a lot anyway, so dont have to scan the field to much , quick on/off , but suppose they come in useful though, quick look with the thermal , then slip the dog, like you say good for old poacher like me lol , but suppose the keepers are using them anyway, so they spot you ,!

Fair point Keith, these herding type xs, really get a bond to there owner deff, my 2 dogs are very loyal to me, even that big fooker lol, OK he likes all people, but think he play up for quite a while if he went to. Knew home. If the dog goes to knew owner, just give him time to adjust. And if poss get the new owner to spend lot of time with him, maybe keep him inside for 3 week or more for till settles down.

how will you work him Keith ,? meaning = i know with a lurcher or whippet , any bolters you need that bit of leg/speed to pick them up.Old Bryn was brill at that as he was fast for a 1x collie x grey , same as Buck my 1x gsd x grey got fair pace on him. i suppose if you net most , the terrier will mark for you , and catch any on the berry , few people ive known in the past have used leggy jack Russell for ferreting and done very well with them. i went years ago with a lad who got leggy j/r on a keepers ground , he did very well there for rabbits, the keeper was anti lurchers , so onl
