  8. well break that down mate over a year , if you keep to the above meat/fish etc, near enough £ 700 quid a year . bit of venison few rabbits, hares would help cut down your bill even further . my dogs on 24% protein burgess active dog , and 1lb raw mince chicken a day plus any other meat i get mooching about with dogs, still got few pieces in freezer to top up with lol . raw mince chicken £ 56 quid 100 lb bags , every fookin thing going up now, keeping dogs pet or working dogs not cheep today .
  9. haha , well back at school 4/8 = 1/2 , prob 1/2these feckers prob played the wag most of the time .lol just thinking about what Neal just wrote about there brains of collie type xs. well when i moved to my old place at south staffs , iam at Hereford /border now, there was bloke there this was 30 years had a collie x lurcher bitch , she was think about 23 in. Anyway went lamping with him the 1st time, he had her i had blaze my 3/8 b/b 5/8 grey. he was doing the lamping , i was just behind him with blaze, when he put the lamp on, his bitch stood up on her back legs , leaning agains
  10. good thread above, like you say you can only judge any dog on what you owned your self. my take on it is that the collie gene quite strong gene either at 1/4 or 4/8 , and from having 1xs my self , and seeing a 1/4 collie work , i really do think a 1/4 plenty in a lurcher you still get good feet coat, brain , stamina, but the big one is the collie temp will be watered down, which i think good think. the coward thing, is what been said on here, that they think to much about the job at hand, say pre ban if you was doing bit of fox control , if the dog been pecked few times before , they not ove
  11. how you feeling today good i hope, i not sure if got a hernia at times, lump comes up side of my groin , but it seems to be i think when my one knacker rises in to my groin , if that make sence , it uncomfortable at times , but just live with it, suppose if get worse will have to get in seen to proper .
  12. yeh , but wilf it here for good now mate, and it will only get worse mate, i am 68 now so prob if lucky might knock 12 odd years out before i kick the bucket , like said feel sorry for my 34 year old son and wife and 2 kids the world they got coming to them .!!
  13. i did read Dave think it last year, the black lad who played Luther tv cop, might get the nod, well i did like him in that series , but not sure he said it want it the job
  14. no wilf , it fare comment mate, look i told you when we had the 1st lockdown 9 months ago , when that young nurse on the telly crying m as she just finished her shift, and couldnt get a meal in for the night, all the fookin shelves were empty , with people panic buying , in other words wilf = dog eat dog attitude mate, and from that day, it put me off people for life . keep your self to your self+ family , and fook the rest of them fact as max would say .
  15. just about to say that Oh Brother lol, yep he carried young Alex in from the rain/mud etc , still one of my fav films ,R I P big man.
  16. yeh prob , lol, any 3/4 running dog 1/4 none sighthound , but prob the pit or the collie be more popular to out x to than the wheaten or gsd, the bel mal be another good out x, these are popular with the army, and police these days, maybe one day somebody might give it a go
  17. nice few quid that greg64 , was it good fight ? or bit one sided
  18. how about 1/4 wheaten x 3/4 grey or 1/4 wheaten x 3 /4 lurcher , reckon from good stuff you get good alrounder
  19. my mate had one few years ago, it was 1/4 b/b x 3/4 grey from Hancock kennels mid 80s, big tall fawn dog, looked more like deerhound x grey, but it 100% 1/4 b/b x 3/4 grey. it had few hares in the day, good lamping rabbits ad had few foxes as well, real good type x, plenty of brain and not bad feet/coat , not like 1x , but still plenty good enough. prob is today is getting this type x, as hancock finished , so fook knows where you find one .?
  20. should think it spot on, she usd to attend the Waterloo cup in its Hay day , loved coursing and liked few lurchers . she was good in her cooking programs , and the country ones with that jonny fella , yep great old lady ps thinking of the waterloo cup, the last day there i nearly got arrested by the police , for having go at the fookin bunny huggers there , tempers were very high that day . deff
  21. 100% mate deff, i tell you what life does get me down now, you think to your self what have i got to enjoy my self today when you wake up in the morning , well the simple answer is sweet fook all , you can have millions in the bank, and a beautiful young fit woman in bed with you, but if you feel un well , if you dont eat certain foods , and if drink booze , whats the point of it !
  22. well , i am the same really, mine the name is IBS carnt eat this carnt that, carnt drink any booze now, no full English breakfast , curries , etc thing i used to enjoy or i be on the the bog all day, and end of thjat day you feel like death warmed up , if eat or drink more than say 2 cans of lager thats only 2 on sunday night nothing mond - sat only tea or coffee , but drink 2 pints of water every day, supposed to be very good for the gut
  23. hang in there, if i was closer and i help you out , but not local to you, so no point really , but never mind hopefully sombody will read this and let you tag along. i have helped few people out over the years, helped few with old bryn lamping and mooching, and my big dog Buck a better dog than him to learn from.
  24. no not this year , ok for young kids people make a effort , ive got 2 young grandkids , but dont think we will see them, my son wife will want to spend xmas with her mother + sister, thats ok by me, but my wife will really miss seeing them. and being honest with all the death that gone on, country got massive debt , prob bigger than the 2nd WW , nothing to feel happy about , and lets face it, lot of family's will run into more debt buying things they cant afford , No fook xmas , lets see what 2021 will be all about 1st . deff !
