pnice little dog, was it a ped whippet ? or none ped whippet ? i had none ped whippet bitch 20 in 20lb , won few races with her down the track in the west mids cannock , some males there got to 22 in 34 lb , they pile into foxes no pro , very game little dogs, yeh the dog prices is fookin joke £ 1 grand for a jack Russell or whippet , bloody lurchers are getting daft prices as well, the dog pounds will like been full like been said on here, you pay £ 400 quid for a dog or pup there , i think 200- 250 quid fair price for lurcher or terrier today , as long as it goes to good home

not got 2 , slow drivers , we got a 60 mile zone right outside my house, on average i go 50 mile , before i hit 30 mile zone , but there slow twats will hold 30 mph on the road all the time,. my 2nd pet hate is, people who pick there dog up when my dog Buck , goes up to them, ive told them that he daft he wont hurt there dog , he only goes up as quick sniff then he walks away, this is with all dogs he meets, he 8 year old now, he was nasty, it would have fookin shown by now, ok he big powerful dog , so what, ive seen dogs as big as little woody , more nasty , and he only fookin 10 lb ri

bird replied to Whiteboy's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
true mate, drop ot pit , deff good in any lurcher line , not keen on collies in a lurcher line, but just drop as long as it watered down, but as you say lurcher x lurcher from proven parents your in with a fighting chance of a good lurcher. -
just out of interest mate, how they bred, ho much pit, to the whippet ? i know that none ped racing whippets are game little dogs, some of the males used get to 34 lb 22 in , they pile into a fox no prob , they have staff , in there genes , good little dogs. ive had pit x greys over the years , so know what the pit offers to any lurcher line , drop of pit goes long way deff, not after pup right now , but think this x wnen bred right make good little lurchers deff . any pics of parents ? Ray

thats a fare comment , ive seen a couple of this type x in the 80s, big 28-30in dogs , couldnt say how there actually bred but thet had good lump of deerhound and greyhound in the mix, they get few hares in the day, and not bad in the lamp the bloke said i seen them in the day mooching, but he did say that they weren't really fox dogs, had couple bt not over keen on the sharp end. now that come from the deerhound deff, there not the bravest of dogs. i worked at a racing kennel for 6 months , and got to know greyhounds quite well, and ok they make nice pets for people, but feck me they make

yeh that great way to get pup interested in rabbits. but being honest i found getting the pup out when very young 10 weeks old, makes massive difference , they learn there field craft , ditches , gates , fences etc, get them used to sheep as well. But regards lamping ,Buck picked up very quick watching bryn catching , held him on the lead, when bryn alive, i let Buck have smell, did this most of the night, by time Buck 6-8 months old he run the beam and take couple squatters .Bryn was as well had him out young, they both got good recall in the lamp, even now i give Buck few recalls in the

thats old bryn 13 year old, 14 in sep a 1x collie x grey , bred in staffs from lad of here,( not Hancock) . when i call them out there kennel from the run outside, Buck always comes out 1st , then wait for him to come out, often think if that be is last, but the old fooker still with me lol, pic of him in his prime think he was 4 year old in this pic. Been good rabbit basher and birds in his day, fast for a 1x , but still think a 1/4 collie x 3/4 grey or 1/4 kelpie x 3/4 grey would have been just as good, and not as hyper temp like what 1xs are,?

just talking to my next door neighbours , they bough a new pup, it a x breed ( newfoulhand x st Bernard , was £ 1200 quid , fook me what a piss take , its a mongrel , just the same as my 2 lurchers , both are 1xs , 1x collie x grey , and 1x gsd x grey , both cost nothing , but gave the owners at the time , £ 50 quid both times to there kids. my gsdx grey big dog, but at least you could do bit of sport with him, put food on the table, and he be far more healthy than her puppy ever will be, some people like throwing there money away deff lol

yep , good catch dog that

very nice dog, and i lke that % of collie in a lurcher. my mate had that type x from Hancock , big 27 in fawn dog , had foxes rabbits in the lamp, and had few hares in the day, ye a good lurcher deff, if was after colliex grey it be that type dog i go for.But the last bit you said as good as pit x grey, no i dont think so, i had 1/4 pit x 3/4 grey from joe smith from Brum in the 80s simlar time and, it was that bit better i thought, speed wise not alot in it and stamina, but bit more grit about it, which i liked, i think of the 1/4 breds the pit x take some beating in my mind, but that ju

cracking dog, my type of collie lurchers , not a lot collie , just enough ?

good vid, dogs / stinkers did well , i had a lurcherx lurcher 25in brindle bitch, just like the one n the vid , brill in the day/night great nose and just like your dogs, it anticipation for a bolt like your dogs was brill . But i did find that having them loose over the berry , that it would get few digs as the rabbit was reluctant to bolt once she put her head down the hole. it( a catch 29 thing), as they deff catch lot bolting loose, but you get few digs as well, maybe the ground plays a part as well, plenty of cover like on the vid they bolt, but vei had open berry's and rabbits , d

true mate , if people are soft enough to pay silly prices for dogs, people will keep breeding them . ive said on these posts before that all dogs shit and piss the same , so why pay , say £ 300 quid for one type , then another £1, 300 quid , ok you get certain breeds , that just bred for one type job, gundog, police dog, coursing dog, fighting dog , digging dogs , lurchers ,and even the above tops for me be £ 800 , and that be breaking me fookin arm , ive been lucky maybe with lurchers most were given to me, most i paid was for a pit x grey in the 80s £ 120 quid , bullmastiff was prob he
