    Rat Smoker

They are no good. Look the business, make loads of smoke etc but don't bolt rats
  2. Good to hear you're keeping busy Liam. How are the dogs keeping?
  3. He's called Steve, I'll let him know he can come and confirm dates with him. Cheers
  4. Is it open to anyone? I have a mate who'd like to come?
  5. Jok, I think you'll find that is a GPS receiver to go with the tracking collars. Owain can't be trusted with radios any more than knives ???
  6. Soon there won't be a field on the place you haven't left a knife! You need one on a bit of string to stop you losing it!
  7. Bought a fishing kayak this year so hoping they turn up and stay for a while
  8. What you need is different depending on what you do. I don't need the digging gear coz I dont dig but i do need a first aid kit coz my dogs are determined to ruin themselves! I'd maybe add a bottle of water too. No point giving you a knife Owain, you just get excited and throw them about lol ???
  9. Have a look at the inflatable canoes in decathlon. Much more useful than a rowing boat
  10. As above. I bought one, it was faulty and sent back while I had loan of the shop one. In the time they were fiddling about with it I decided I didn't like it after using the loan one. They couldn't fix the original one I bought so have replaced it. It's brand new only been turned on to test and never been fitted to a gun. Comes with full set of adaptor rings to fit all scopes. £1100 plus £20 special delivery

    Cars

2000 plate hilux. Brilliant truck as long as you don't mind long journeys taking a bit longer. Goes anywhere though and couldn't be without it for work and dogs
  12. I fitted a terracotta on recycled fire bricks and wooded frame. I think the oven itself was about £300. It's bloody good, get to 400 degrees in no time
  13. Cous cous is brilliant with fish too. Grilled trout with salt, pepper and chilli flakes on a bed of Co op lemon and coriander cous cous doused in lemon juice is a favourite dinner in our house
  14. This is one of the most inspiring threads in here. Well done, long may it continue
  15. Planted up my beds a couple of days ago and added some beans, kindly donated by Sussex, this evening. No idea what I'm doing but the process of learning by my mistakes has started. The strawberries we inherited with the house have started producing as has the rhubarb and the spinach we planted early on is mostly done
  16. The spanish trip we went on wasn't bad cost wise. If I did it again, which I would, I would want to join up with some local lads with dogs that knew the quarry though. It was hard work with the whole pack not knowing what they were chasing, a couple of dogs that knew the score would have pulled things together I think
  17. Find a US hunting forum and offer a trade, I did it when i went to NZ and was hooked up with some brilliant hunting and fishing by the guys there. I'd have them over in a heart beat but they seem happy where they are lol
  18. I went on the trip to Spain, it was a good craic but we blanked. It is legal there but not easy especially when we were bringing dogs from the UK who had never even seen one and had no idea what they were hunting! Might have been a different story with more experienced dogs. I've also hunted pigs in new zealand which is great. Massive buzz running into the bail!
  19. I had a look at the muck mountain and decided against it, it's under about 6 foot of nettles and one of the livery girls said she used a load last year and has been fighting the nettles it brought to her garden ever since. Shame really as it's the size of a small house and been rotting down for years. I'll probably have to buy by the bag as I don't think I'll need a whole tonne bag and there's nowhere to keep it at home, I'd have to keep it at the yard and move it by the bag anyway
  20. Perfect, thank you. I got the beds in and levelled this evening so I'll go and dig up some of the muck mountain tomorrow. Should I put it in neat or mix any sand or anything into it?
  21. Right, I'm a total novice at growing things and I might have partially missed the boat this year but I'd like to have a try at least. Due to getting distracted by things, mostly fishing, i've only just sorted out my raised beds. Got one 6'x 4' and one 4'x 4'. What soil mix should I fill them with and what should I be planting in them at this time of year? I have access to unlimited well rotted horse manure so would ideally like to use as much of that as possible to keep costs down. Any and all advice gratefully received
  22. I think its a myth about coursed game tasting different to shot game. I've eaten plenty of both and reckon it's got more to do with the age and sex of the animal in question.
