  1. Same here. Still do it but just stopped posting - maybe i will fo one next
  2. A good day out and a good write up. There seem to be more on here recently, like it used to be. Well done mate
  3. Good to see those pics again. Dolly and Lizzy looking young there
  4. Putting pics up mate, just like the old days lol. I'll not be doing a massive write up but heres a brief one. We'd been out for a wander with the .410's and had nice morning, little mixed bag few pheasants, squirrel abd a pigeon i think. We put the shotguns and terrier away and got the ferret and runners out. We did a little hedgeline and bolted a few and caught some of them. Followed that up with pub dinner. Lovely
  5. Good news, she could surprise you yet. Good luck
  6. There's no charge, it's free. If you chose to you could donate something but you don't have. It's mutually beneficial, the stalker gets help to find his lost deer and the tracker gets work for his dog and a chance to show how useful a tracking dog can be.
  7. I will take this please. I can collect whenever so drop me a PM or send me your number and we'll arrange a time. Cheers
  8. 5'6" rod with braid and a fluro leader. I was fishing 2g jig heads and soft plastics and my mate had a selection of spinners. I love the light gear, it makes small fish great fun
  9. Better to be out hunting than inside whatever the weather! Hope you had a good Christmas Liam and the new year treats you well
  10. Had enough of being indoors with in-laws over Christmas so ran away fishing this morning. Just a couple of hours with a mate on a new bit of river. It was hard going but a few perch saved up from blanking.
  11. I think there's a book by McDonald, might be called Running with the Fox but I could be wrong
  12. Enzo trapper, clulite head torch, 5 fish ticket to trout lake and some clothes. Great food and family. Well chuffed. Wife excelled herself this year.
  13. Following on from the recent threads about stalking dogs and tracking dogs I thought I'd mention the UKDTR. They offer a free and confidential deer tracking and recovery service for any stalker who has wounded and lost a deer. The full information is on their website so I won' type it all out again here. I called them out a year or so ago and was so impressed with watching the dog track that it inspired me to train my lurcher bitch. In September Willow and I took and passed our exam and I am now a member of the UKDTR. The point of the thread is really just to get the message out
  14. I was out lamping with the loon last night ..... he's still alive and well!
  15. I've not tried her, she waits in the truck usually if I'm going to use a seat. To be honest I'm not sure about having dogs under seats, more scent and an extra presence to warn the deer I'd have thought? But I've never done it so might be wrong. It would be handy if you are going to stalk into a seat, sit for a while then stalk on. I've never tried though
  16. With the lack of daylight I've been doing more from high seats over the last month. Re reading this makes me want to find time to do more on foot with the dog
  17. Thanks Darren. She handy enough, Jack of all trades and master of none but good at the tracking
  18. Bill hardy, do you ever have anything good or useful to say about anything?
  19. Here is one she tracked last night. It had gone the opposite way to what I thought so without her I'd have been looking for ages and never found it.
  20. I think you'll probably find those who are netting hares aren't killing them but moving them
  21. Fair play to the guy. Could you have kept your shit together through that?
