    depending on whether you work alone or not there is enough to do night netting. I would leave the dog at home. that's if you are in dodgy places and are out to catch rabbits. if you are on safe ground and it's a bit of fun then try it.

    After much consideration I have decided not to put my beddywhippet bitch to for my next pup. the thought of producing a litter, dealing with the timewasters etc holds no joy for me and I have never been interested in the money side of it. I am going for my first straight whippet, looking for a kc worker, anyone know of any future litters in the pipeline?

    that's the main reason I only keep little whippet crosses, they will rat, squirrel odd pheasant, partridge etc.

    problem is years ago loads of lads were rabbiting, ratting, catapults etc. nowadays it's nanny state and do gooders, anyone doing a bit is seen as a bit of a odd ball.

    Quick set nets

    never really used quickset nets, but traditional net has 100%.bagging.meaning a 50 yard net has 100 yards of netting. if you have your poles at 5 yard intervals you will need 10 yards of netting in between the poles. can't see why your mesh size is so small though unless you are after young smaller rabbits?

    for me it means a dog that tries at everything every time. rabbits sat at side of hedge, it doesn't think about it, still tries for them. it also doesn't start applying brakes yards from cover either. often hits cover to catch it's quarry. far better than a clever thinking dog that picks its runs.

    any hunting man worth his salt should be able to take partridge with a dragnet at night ? was often told that years ago. popular around here with older generations, never got round to having a go through. what about you, ever tried it?

    Good shooting Mr Wilkes ?. Good to see you shooting ttf. not many seem to favour it, I am used to it and hitting stuff so won't change. what's the 8.7 steel like compared to 9.5 mm?

    they are on preloved, gumtree etc crossed with whippets, they call them whiggys. going to put my bitch to one and call pups whiggy-whipplingtons, £3000 a piece.
