Are you getting pup from dave or Joe, I looked at getting a bitch pup. They are nice pups and you should do well mate,, you only get out what you put in, yes folk call him puppy farmer like they do with hancock, brummel but how many same folk run dogs from those they slag. And just look on any free add loads of pups for sale "all working bred" so adds say. Most are bred by folk on here.... I wish you all the best,,

favourite type of working terrier and why?
Jerry71 replied to Lenmcharristar's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Bedlington terrier for me, my grandfather and father had some good all rounders. Bolting fox for pelts, and ferreting, ratting, beating, picking up, bushing and also in my opinion the best x for a moochers lurcher. I like all the working terrier breeds, some are falling into the wrong hands "pet homes but worse still" money men. A working terriers job should be earth work but I haven't got kennel space for just earth dogs if I did I'd go for a fell, or lakeland. my dog must be a all-rounder filling many work roles so it's a bedlington in my opinion, -
Great pictures mate,,

Stunning mate. How many couples do you run,

Nice pics mate. iv never seen a fell pack, it looks a good day out and what stunning land. Good to see the lurchers along with the hounds is that a whippet u have. The Pytchley is on my door step and I don't think they would be to pleased if my whippets ran with there pack lol, happy Xmas.

My uncle had two fox cubs wich he found starving after parents were shot, there eyes had not long been open. They done well and released a few months later once big anufe to fend for themselves. He also found a badger cub about fifty years ago, the set had been dug and dug bad as he put it. Two cubs left dead one sow and a dead terrier left in the hedge. He found the cub covered over in a stop end and took it home and my mum cared for it for two years before she wondered from were they was staying.

Good bit of land mate, and like iv said before you have some cracking dogs.

That's a nice dog mate, hope yous do well,

Nice looking dog mate and a good bag of bunny's. Wish my whippet would leave cats alone. His neck grows extra foot and his eyes pop out, absolutely hates cats. My bitch is fine but I had her from a pup, whippet was gifted at two yrs and his hatred for cats is his only fault. Atb j

Iv lookt at working Bedlington pups at £450 mate and yes Iv seen pups going for less but normally they have lakeland or patt in there breeding wich no doubt are great workers but pure working Bedlington pups are getting hard to find. Folk have got good lines that work below still and this is what Im looking for and hopefully I'll get my pup but kc I ain't bothered about as long as parents graft, hear of a litter let me know pal atvb j

Same with terriers and lurchers, best ones come from lads who breed to keep a line going not for profit.

Nice looking pair mate

Just wondering if anyone follows the Pytchley hunt and if so do you have any old pictures of the hounds and the terriers used by Pytchley. I used to go school with a lad who's father did a bit of terrier work for them he used russells back then 40 yr ago now. None of his terriers would win shows but they was good honest workers and that's what counts in the field. If you have old pics please put them up atvb good hunting j

Me and the misses took our whippet and bedy whippet for a walk over the farm yesterday in the snow, bedy x had never seen snow before and she loved it, whippet ran around like a nutter eating it and rolling in snow, we could tell wich Warren's were holding Coney and we saw several hares and two muntys, Im out ferreting tomorrow so hopefully have a good day, personally I would not slip my dogs in snow or ice on long runs but ferreting is OK in snow. Hope you get him back, call all local vets, police, warden, farms etc and dog lost. Hope someone finds him and takes him vets for you. Good luck mate.

Good to hear they all have new homes, my pal works two couples of borders and they are the best ratters iv ever seen. I'd have loved one but holding out for a bedlington bitch pup, atb

Great offer this mate, how I wish all working terrier, lurcher men and women would put there lines first not there wallet. Been looking for a bedlington for a couple of years now but I ain't paying £500 price tag when it should be about keeping working lines going. Im sure these pups will find great homes were they will go on to be good earth dogs and ratters.

Nice dog mate and it looked a good day. Karnt beet a whippet or bedlington whippet on ferreting game. I work a 3 quater whippet x saluki bedlington and a small bedlington whippet x Patterdale. Wouldn't be without a small lurcher.

I had to take the dreaded walk to the vets on Friday with a old poly hob who I rescued five years ago, my pal rents houses out and some one had left Alfie running around and left on his own for seven months. He was found when builders went in to renevat seven months after tenants left. He looked in good health and I asked neighbours if they had lost a ferret. They hadn't but lost all there hens and they was no rats about there sheds any more. He had been hunting and getting in and out through a broken vent. He was wild at first but calmed and I put a Jill with him and I would handle her and he

I have a soft spot for staffys. Had one 30 years ago now, got her for 25 quid of a so called dog man who got her to draw Charlie at end of digs, she wasn't interested so he'd boot her for showing him up in front of his other so called dog men. I got her and fed her the best I could afford and put loades of time into her and she came to trust me quite quickly considering shed been booted about by one of the towns bullys. She went on to be a great ratter and good ferreting bitch and in the house she was always with my kids when they was toddlers, they would dress her up in crazy outfits. I have
