  1. Like I said mate handle every day and if you have kids get them to play with them as pugs love to play. When I feed mine I shake my keys and they fly to the door of court as they no its feed, play time. When they are to ground they will come to sound of keys but we always put locators on them and dig down to pug and coney, my pugs work above ground as well in log piles, brambles etc along side my curs, all kits will nibble on fingers but soon get out of it with proper handling just like a puppy. Also if your going to get 9 week old kits your gonna need a hutch as a large court will be two big
  2. I would give you two Jill's but miles away mate, I agree with advice from above and if you have any questions there's some good folk on here for advice. Bedding, food aside once you have the kits it's handle and play with them every day mine are in large courts but come out to play at feeding and cleaning time and of course were out ferreting, I always start mine on small places wich hold a rabbit or two and once a bunny is in the bag I allow pugs to rag it and then box them up and work a veteran, next time out work them longer. Cared for and entered propley your pugs will become good workers

  11. I was told a farmer found it in one of his barns and it went to a rescue, it had no tracker on but fella who collected bird said it was well fed. I tried to get it to come to hand but even though it flew by me a few times he wasn't going to give freedom up so easy.
  12. Best thing is to take your dog to the vets pal, that way you get your dog treated and peace of mind that you are doing what's best for your dog. Some good folk on here and some that's a waste of time. It looks like a syst to me but I'm no vet. Atb
  13. I don't see the problem folk put whippets to terriers, and I'm sure greyhound over a whippet wouldn't cause a problem. Iv pm you.
  14. Hi mate I will be looking for a hh chick this year. I'm in the process of putting shed etc up, will you be breeding any this year. Please pm me if you are, also any advice on size of mews etc needed would be helpful, atb Jerry
  15. I don't think it's illegal to pen rabbits, but why not ferret your own. Have a great time catching them and more fun getting gun dogs steady to them.
  16. Best of luck mate, iv seen sealyhams and x work on shoots, beating, ratting and earth work. Proper little characters the pair I had pleasure to go out with for few days Done better than the gun dogs to be honest. Cracking pup you have and wish you all the best with it.
  17. Got some nice terriers mate, the nutt bred dog is a good size, good to see a border out as well. Atb
  18. Your dogs look like they enjoyed the day and that's what counts, forget big numbers and enjoy yourself. And be careful when letting your terrier eat rats as your dogs will be getting the poison as well. Atb
  19. Sorry to hear about your mate, and I hope you find the dog the loven home it deserves. Good on yer Phil, atb
  20. My two get beef mince, chicken, tripe, boiled goats heads, Turkey necks, wings, table scraps, waggs biscuit and sardines pilchards eggs. I will mix mince etc with kibble and they always do well, the reason we feed different types of meat is because I don't like fussy eaters, what we put down they eat and do well on it without costing 50 quid for a bag of kibble, when ever we have had pups they done really well on boiled goats head meat and milk. If any are under the weather then sardines, pilchards have always got them eating again.
  21. Like above a first x bedyxwhippet will b around 19"and if your wanting bigger I'd look at greyhound x bedlington. If looking at litters you want to see the bedlington and whippet or greyhound parents, hopefully both will be working and if looking at a first x they will all be ruff coated, if they is smooth coated pups then your not looking at a first x. My opinion you can get no better lurchers than bedlington first x greyhound and the whippet x makes ideal small lurcher. Problem is the folk breeding this x for money and no thought at all about the pups, which is a great shame. Luckily they is
  22. She's nice mate, I personally believe a whippet will and can do anything a small lurcher can and better, yes you get a better coat once crossed but whippets don't need to be any gamer iv seen whippets take muntjac, Fox, hare and of course anything coney. Iv had some great times hunting with all kinds of dogs in the forty years iv been around working dogs and seen some good dogs but the best times have been with a whippet or two and a box of pugs.
