  7. Iv only seen one ratting and it was as good as the Russell dogs on the day. Most pet ones still look handy little things.
  8. To be honest if I was looking for a collie x I would go to Hancock. You see both parents and you know exactly what you're getting, iv seen some crap ones but iv also seen some cracking dogs from him. You only get out what you put in. I wish you all the best with your pup. J
  9. Same mate if you do hear from him let me know.
  10. What x is your bedy lurcher mate. I would love a deerhound x but wouldn't be able to do it justice on my land I've seen a few work over the years and i would say no better dog on fox and deer. I like ruff coated lurchers and I have a great love for the Bedlington terrier so for me on paddock size fields it's a whippet and bedy x. Atb
  11. Whippets are the best of all sight hounds in my opinion.
  12. My uncle worked two pure greyhound pups and they went on to take all UK game preban, lamped well and good ferreting dogs as well, be honest I'd like to get a pure pup and I'm sure it would turn out OK, one of my uncle's dogs was demon on fox atb
  13. Haven't seen a otter for years mate, I was told by a dog walker he'd seen a light coloured mink hunting along Brook, my whippet found the carp two fields away from Brook, atb
  14. My whippet is nine and he still behaves like a pup, if I was to leave him behind it'd destroy him and I'd miss him, atb
  15. Sorry to hear about molly, atb
  16. We all have our opinions, I don't think it's right, if I was entering a dog I'd wait until it was old anufe and let it be a pup, once old anufe it would be started on rat, don't see what dog gets out of it never mind poor animal inside. I'm happy we don't do that shite in UK,
  17. I used normal cartons, pups, kits love it and done well, I like it as well.
  18. He's really nice mate, enjoy your pup and put the obedience in. Make training a game. Atb
  19. It might be a mink as a Brook runs through the middle of the farm, didn't see no prints about but snow was melting, I used to take my dad's terriers along this brook 35 years ago ratting and had some of the best times, I might just start letting the dogs work the banks.
