  1. While I was walking back to the car with the weight of a pigeon in my game bag, I decided to have a cheeky look at the polly tunnels One of them is full of chilli plants - there's all sorts in there - rows and rows of different coloured, different shaped chillies. I started to get a bit of an idea so, I looked at a few and, took a red one that I liked the look of. When I got home, I breasted the pigeon and, cooked it with red wine and the chilli - it went in a toasted sandwich with lettuce and a little bit of cheese. It was bloody lovely, if I do say so myself
  2. The wind died down a lot today so, I headed off the manor house permission and, got there just before 8. I wanted to give the .177 Falcon Prairie a good run ...... It's been performing well on targets with AA Fields and, a very simple Nikko diamond scope with a No 4 dot reticle. I was after squirrels but, now that a lot of leaves are down, the woods are a much more open space - these things saw me coming a few times I can't blame it all on the woods - I missed a couple of cracking chances ........ The first one I spooked on the ground. He ran straight up a big oak tree. I k
  3. I agree with Joe - they're in season and on your permission so, take a few and enjoy them mate
  4. That just sounds like good old fashioned piss poor service He sold you the trigger, it broke, he agreed it was faulty - to my mind, he should be giving you a refund or replacement. ...... It doesn't matter that it's been 4 months - his faulty unit could have caused a ND. Personally, I'd have had enough of the BS responses (and nonresponses) by now - I'd go back in there, with the receipt if possible, and politely tell them that it's gone on for too long and needs to be sorted out now. As already said, I'd also name the shop. Good luck - hope you get it sorted.
  5. I like that BD Are you going to keep it as is, with open sights or, bung a scope on it?
  6. To be honest, I reckon it'll happen sooner or later. The agenda seems to have swung very anti in the last 20 or so years - I used to be able to walk off the estate, along a main road, to a public woods, with my old Mercury Challenger on a sling when I was a kid - a couple of the old folks used to ask for a pigeon when I was on the way back home. No one batted an eyelid. If I have to get a license, I'll probably end up with a .17hmr, some sort of .22 and a couple of shotguns - I can't see the point in pissing about for a sub 12 air rifle.
  7. Nice one Jeff ..... it's always nice to christen a new rifle I've been trying to do the same today but, nothing's having it - I think the gale force winds down here are keeping everything tucked away.
  8. yeh down south where the fry fish in shite oil like palm oil,,,,,but upt north fryed in beef dripping,,,now your talking flavour,,, You may well be right - they all seem to produce greasy shite round here. It feels like you need to use a mouth wash after eating it.
  9. I,d try a different chippy if I was you as that looks fit for penguins and seals and not for human consumption imho, we invented fire around the same time we started walking upright to avoid eating cold wet soggy food, but each to there own When it's done nice, raw fish is very nice Pound for pound you can't beat the nutrients a nice bit of oily fish. Like veg, the more you cook it, the more you lose from it. I couldn't eat it day in day out but, I really do enjoy it.
  10. Good clip That's exactly the way should be done - that was spot on ...... Which is probably exactly why it wasn't given any air time. Good on them and, fair play to Tommy.
  11. I do like rollmops - they're much tastier and healthier than that battered shite from the chippy.
  12. Personally, I like the Barrett M107 .50 cal - it's good for everything from deer to fox to insurgents to rabbits and more. It's good on the rats because it either buries them on the spot or, it leaves nothing to pick up. For squirrels that like to hide behind branches, it's a real game changer. It's a little iffy on pigeons in barns but, on the plus side, it does help to let in more light so that I can see right into the top of the rafters. On nights when the weather is bad, I don't even need to leave home - I just shoot the deer on my permission 1.5mile away from the bedroom w
  13. What the feck is a Whackapoo £730 for a mongrel
  14. If that's Napier Power Pellet lube that you're talking about Matt, I'd definitely give that idea a miss mate - I've heard it and smelled it combust in the back of a pellet.
  15. I've never had a Mod 50 but, they seem to get good reviews ....... Sounds like it's worth keeping and tarting up. I did read that, if you look at the cylinder close to the stock and directly above the trigger, you should see the month and year that it was made.
  16. Nice one Jimmy It feels like it's been ages since I've been out - I feel a solitary night hunt coming I always seem to see more interesting stuff when out by myself - badger, muntjac, roe, fox. Sometimes it's nice just to stay still and watch what they're doing.
  17. Good vid but, I don't think they did that with a .25 Lightning
  18. Congratulations Dave I wish her all the best mate.
  19. My missus had to have that after a difficult labour - it's a pretty routine thing now mate. Good luck and atb to mother and baby
  20. so if he told you that he must of told you how much aye the kind of money what guys like him lose down the back of there sofa but he was willing to see a so called mate on shit street instead but still that is not the argument no even if it's nowt to do with youAbsolute weasel I have a brother in nick at the moment - if you think your comments aren't being seen or won't be seen, you are deluded. I said it before - bringing up someones name when he isn't around to defend himself is low. You know this could come back to bite you right?
  21. Welcome aboard Adam What sort of hunting are you into mate? ...... shooting, trapping, dogs? Get stuck into the forum - there's a lot of good knowledge on here. Atb
  22. no not at al mate ,in fact for a change i was nice In that case, it sounds like they're just plain rude and, unable to take criticism. Take your money elsewhere mate
  23. Definitely not good to put the phone down on a customer Was your wording a little more colourful than .......... 'this why i don't use BAR unless i have to because the postal is a pain in the backside'
  24. What's the name of the shop Jeff? ..... I'll try to get a picture up for you mate
