  1. That's got to be a real pisser for sure when that happens At least you managed to get out and, didn't come home empty handed
  2. I see where you're coming from Oakey but, I think the safety on an HW100 is one of the better ones. ..... Like VM says - if you try to put the safety on but it won't go, you know the rifle's not cocked - it's safer than pulling the trigger to find out and, better than risking a non-shot on target. Vice versa, if the safety will engage, you'll know for sure that you cocked it after the last shot. You'll get used to it
  3. I'm the same as you Phil - some of those technical thingamajigs do work well for people but, I just don't get it I've always set targets out a various distances and shot a load of pellets at them I draw a picture of my reticle on a separate bit of paper and, mark down where the pellet impacts at each distance. ....... it works for me Also, I find that doing it this way helps to get an eye for the ranges.
  4. Good to see you back at it Matt Nice shooting mate
  5. Of all the creatures to f**k about with, these dipsticks pick crocodiles
  6. TBH, I like them as they are, with the metal finish. Makes a pleasant change to see something different....... Same here ...... I do like that silver look with the wood stock.
  7. HW100 It's solidly built and is very slick to use. Also, it's impossible to double load it.
  8. Yes, do it Although, if this is going to be one of BBs club rifles, would a blued finish be more durable/easy to maintain?
  9. Those adjustable laminate stocks are nice - not just because they look good, the adjustable butt plate and cheek piece halped me to get a perfect fit with mine As for scopes, I reckon that's a personal thing but, for me, the Hawke Airmax Amx is best. It's a good all round day time scope and, it works really well with my NV add on.
  10. Nice work mate Have you done any filming with that new scope yet?
  11. This is the AMD reticle Dave. ....... I've no idea what one to use on Chairgun though. Good luck.
  12. Dirty b*****ds Burn it down and start again.
  13. pasty has a whole different meaning up her Oops, I'd better start calling her something else
  14. I got an update today - he carried that squirrel all the way home - a mile along a busy main road She said they got loads of looks and people laughing - no shitty reactions. Most people wanted to pet the dog and have a quick chat
  15. wondered why we always meet in car parks You need your wits about you in those secluded spots in Wiltshire mate
  16. You ol' feckers Pasty girl and squirrel dog girl are 2 different people - once upon a time, I'd have jumped at least one of them by now ......... You see, some of us on here are handsome devils But, alas, I'm a good boy now The best I have to offer a nubile young lady nowadays is rabbit pasties and advice on dead squirrels Tragic ennit
  17. That's a cracking gesture from both of you ...... It's nice to see things like this that helps get young 'uns into the sport
  18. I've never paid much attention to this subject but, reading this thread has been interesting. I've come to the conclusion that I'd love to see irrefutable proof ...... It'd make a few people think twice before setting out across dark fields I'll give that documentary a watch if we can get a heads up when it's on.
  19. I know exactly the sort you mean Mark. ...... I used to have to deal with a lot of those wankers when I ran our Cirencester branch - their particular brand of arrogance makes me turn all 'council estate' and curt
  20. That's the first one he's ever caught and, she's not used to either - she said the Hyacinth Buckets walking their Yorkies looked horrified ...... I like that dog
  21. Her GSP is just over a year old and, while on a walk, he caught a squirrel ........ In front of loads of other dog walkers He won't let go of it and, she doesn't want to touch it I said praise him and let him carry it home then. ...... Good boy
  22. Welcome to the sport and the forum Owen Unfortunately, you're a bit far from me mate. You've picked a very capable rifle - I do like those Supertens. It'll be a good hunter. ...... just make sure you put the practice in first and learn about your quarry (anatomy and habits). Also, have a read of the General License conditions - you can find this on BASCs website. Army surplus is a good place for clothing a DPM smock is cheap and durable. I like to travel light when hunting so, I usually have a knife, string, tissues, pellets and range finder in the pockets on my smock. A ga
  23. I'll come for a visit if you set one up Rob The range at Black Cat is well set up and well run. There's a 60yrd plinking range with a covered shooting bench that can take 8 - 10 people. The bench is nice and solid so, no one elses activities make it move. Being covered means that we can continue shooting if it rains or, leg it into the club house for a cuppa There are yard markers down both sides and, all sorts of targets up and down the range. The safety protocols are good - there's always a briefing for new members and, we have a simple whistle system for if we need to
