That's some result again

Cheers John I love it when it works out like that

Cheers Si The oak leaves are already on the turn - it's a perfect match for my DPM smock at the moment I really should get some feeders and a hide set up in there - I didn't see big numbers but, I did see them all through the woods. Good luck on the pigeons mate

Cheers mate For me, There's nothing more satisfying than eating what I've shot and, that did go down well.

I doubt there's a single country in the world that would let someone in a full face veil through passport control TBH. Even in Dubai they take them into a side room with a female employee to remove their veil and confirm their identity. Fair enough I just wouldn't want to see special treatment (for anyone) when our petrol stations insist that crash helmets be removed and, the shop where my missus works asks for hoods to be taken down.

Yep, agree with that. There's some proper silly bollocks posted sometimes but, it's just words on a forum

Very nice Mark I agree with VM - these things take some skill to shoot and, they do get some ridicule. But, the fact remains, with the right person behind the trigger, they're a very capable tool. Well done mate - for the shot and judging when to take it

I dropped little 'un and her mate off to school yesterday morning as it was my day off - I did this earlier in the week and found out that, because of road resurfacing works, it takes feckin ages to get home Thankfully, her school is half a mile along country lanes from my big manor house permission ..... So, I put my kit in the boot. It was already raining when I got there but, a walk in the woods was better than sitting in traffic I took the .22 FN12 - it's a brilliant little, lightweight hunter for those woods, made even better with the new Hawke Vantage on it. I like t

That sounds fair enough It's just a shame that all immigration departments aren't as robust.

Cheers Si I do like them mate - like you said on another post, I think this just fits. I actually don't mind that bear trap - with a piston extension fitted, it only goes as far as 1 click. I wouldn't ever want to be without a springer but, most of my hunting is done at night. For that, I haven't found anything that works better for me than the HW100 and NS Viper. ...... But, if I could find an NV set up that was guaranteed to not self destruct on a springer my mates on about putting his photon on his ps for ratting he's a 100 kid to the core but loves his ps! I'd be interest

where did you buy the 79 , been down to my RFD and asked him out them , he looked at me if i was some sort of cnut Because you asked about a 79, or .........?

J S Ramsbottom are pretty good - I've had a couple of bits off them. I can't remember ever hearing a bad review for them. They're the same guys that own and run Airgun BBS

I reckon you could do a nice job on one very easily Simon There's no special tools needed to take one apart - the TX, just take the action out of the sock, hold it by the barrel, put the trigger housing on a towel on a firm surface and push down, then unscrew the retaining bolt (may need an adjustable spanner first time). Then the whole thing just comes apart. .... the only fiddly bit is the circlip for the pin on the cocking lever. A drop-in kit is exactly as it sounds - it literally just drops in - no tools needed, it can all be done by hand Dismantling the ProSport, from memo

Cheers Renos To be fair, I don't think this is typical of AA rifles - I reckon it was caused by the pissed spring. Even if it had been perfect, I'd still have stripped it at some point - it's quite therapeutic to have a tinker I'm not too worried about the warranty on a TX - there's very few moving parts and, they're so easy to strip - even I can do it Anyway mate, how's your hands doing? Have you been shooting much lately?
-
Cheers Mark That work is similar ..... I dare say that my job isn't quite as refined as a pro job - I haven't been brave enough to have the trigger apart yet.
-
It's gone mate, sorry - I chopped it in against the TX. Those ProSports are nice, they're the second best springer that Air Arms make
-
This may sound odd but, I hope it's a good day Yes, the big fella was taken too early but, it sounds like he'd had an interesting life - it's always nice when a funeral is more of a celebration. Again, my condolences to his family.

In the mean time, I tried another rifle that I'd heard good things about - an HW97kt Indeed, it was a very nice rifle - well made and a joy to use but, I could never get consistent enough to have the confidence to hunt with it. I tried different power levels, different pellets, different stocks, different scopes - maybe it just didn't fit me. Now that the TX is back, I thought I'd get it exactly how I want it It's got an old style MTC Viper with SCB reticle, sitting in a dampa mount. Some nice shiny Rowan bits - trigger guard, adjustable trigger, cocking lever, adjustable but

After a very long break, I came back to air rifles almost 3yrs ago now and, things had changed a lot in 19/20yrs I did a hell of a lot of reading about a lot of rifles - specs, reviews, forum searches etc. Then I managed to get out and handle a few. Eventually, I settled on the TX - everything about it just felt right - it was a quality bit of kit that fits me well and, being made in England is a nice bonus I wanted an HC just because I prefer the shorter length. Sure they need a bit more effort to cock but, it's nothing worth moaning about. 1st up was .177 HC in a beech stoc

oh yeah right so if you inocently took your family into a guys house and he was minted rich and then you found out the sort of stuff he been involved in to get minted rich was heavy as his was you be ok with it woudnt bother you one bit yeah right That's low and, you're not to be trusted Ok, maybe he should have been more selective when choosing who knows his affairs but, You accepted his hospitality and went to his family home. If you found out something that you didn't like, you should have kept your gob shut and quietly distanced yourself - but, you're still here carrying on while

That's just feckin typical - I hate it when that happens ..... I've tried to shoot when I've been distracted and, just couldn't hit a thing. But, there's nothing more satisfying than a good springer session when you're on form Those second groups are shit hot mate - I'd be well happy with those. Nice rifles - that .22 97 is very nice to shoot
-
I do like .22 for rat shooting with NV and, walking about in the woods but, most shots are well under 35yrds. ..... it does give a rather satisfying whack when it hits. But, if I had to choose just one, it'd be .177 It's more forgiving to shoot at longer ranges and, as Mole says, with a heavy pellet, I find it to be an excellent hunting calibre. Good luck with your choice
