How to reduce the recoil on a .177 hw97k
Jonjon79 replied to Dean 4546's topic in General Airgun Discussion
If I remember correctly, when I first got my old 97, every shot felt like a punch in the cheek. ......... Plastic slip washers at each end of the spring calmed it down nicely. -
That's a cracking picture You could look at that for ages wondering what they were really like.

Hw100 .177 chrono test
Jonjon79 replied to Phill-W68's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
That could be anything Phil - testing over the chrono outside, the first culprit I'd look at would be the nice weather - sun shine on the sensors can throw up odd readings. If the rifle was warning up in the heat, the grease in the trigger mechanism could have been causing some inconsistencies as it was loosening up. I'd try to find somewhere that I could have the target further away, then test again - the groupings will then help to give you a better indication of what's going on. -
Snap .........It was barbecue and beers round mine last night. That roll looks feckin tasty - stick a fried egg and some brown sauce in there and, you've got perfection
-
It's a funny ol' rifle that one - it was probably the longest springer I've ever had but, one of the easiest for taking standing shots What pellets are you using in it Jimmy?
-
Nice one Jimmy ........ I never did get around to hunting with that 77 so, it's good to see it being put work mate As already said, cracking shot placement

I haven't looked that far into it but, as you mention it - considering that the texts were originally copied and scripted by monks of varying literate capability, and, as a result were open to interpretation, the Bible and Koran are actually very similar, it is indeed possible that you are correct. Anyway, all that bollocks aside, if you take the time to mull over what Len posted - I like it. ............. It's a 'Hang in there' kind of inspirational quote
-
I like that Len ...... It's pretty deep - I'm not religious but, it strikes a chord

In my honest opinion mate - they're the best all-rounder that money can buy at the moment
-
Yep, what VM said Keep the hamster Dan, you may find it actually helps while walking around.

I think it was an issue with the whole Visa network. I agree, you can't beat cash - especially for those weekend private jobs

Best camo I've ever seen

Scum bags. At least over there, they're at risk of being shot.

f**k me, I just read this bit in Shepps link........ The police’s language is often sympathetic rather than condemnatory. Linda Staaf, a police chief, has pointed out that grenade-throwing is dangerous because those who pull out the pin ‘expose themselves to a huge risk’. Jan Evensson, Stockholm’s police chief, also makes his case on compassionate grounds: ‘It’s hard to be a criminal. We want to help them get out of it.’ This famously soft approach once worked well in Sweden, but society has changed and the authorities have not kept up. For the political establishment it seemed for

You can sometimes get cheap used ones with a new test on them from dive centres.
-
Glad you got it sorted Lee ..... I use nothing but JSB Heavies in my 100, they're an excellent pellet. As Phil says, Bisley Magnum (and Weihrauch magnum) are also worth a look - I found them to give good accuracy and, they penetrate really well.

The HW 97K .177 has landed and a short review.

I'm looking for a new assistant manager at work............
Jonjon79 replied to Jonjon79's topic in General Talk
That was my thoughts exactly. ........ The rest of the CV was pretty good but, I disregarded it after getting to that to bit. I have a fairly small team here and, they're ok with me having a bagged rifle in the office if I've been out early or, if I plan to go straight from work. They've come to like it when I bring in things for them to try. An animal rights, veggie nutter would do my head if they started banging on. -
Honestly, I think that will look better than the silver cap Jimmy

Jonjon79 replied to Jonjon79's topic in General Talk
See, that's the thing, I couldn't give a monkeys what her tits look like or how she performs with golf balls and garden hose - I need someone that can do my job when I'm not here, keep the rest of the team in check, think for themselves and, most importantly, get results
