  1. Cheers Jeff I hope you're starting to feel better now mate.
  2. They did indeed mate Although this one's got character, both Si and Jimmy have worked on it so, I suspect it's a bit more forgiving than an original C1 - it's just me that needs the work now
  3. It was good seeing it seeing it come back to life Jimmy ....... I remember the work that Ethan put into it mate
  4. I reckon that 'sexuality expert' has never had a good f**k in it's life
  5. You done 1 better than me yesterday mate Nice one Bn
  6. He's a bit more beardy than he used to be but, he's making some cracking knives ...... We had a look at what can only be described as a small machete - it was made from 4mm thick steel. That thing would easily lop a hand off He's also doing some lockers that are going to come up really nice He didn't mention the action - I think he's a fan of wood and blued steel but, he did tell me to make sure I take it down the club so that he can have a go. Seriously, it doesn't need anymore doing to it mate - look at the picture - it's spot on ...... But, thank
  7. I reckon they're the one mate I had it round at Davy's yesterday - he complemented your restoration job
  8. When I felt I was somewhere near enough, I changed the target over and, did some 5 shot groups of the following pellets....... JSB Jumbo Exact 5.52 - 15.89gn Falcon Accuracy Plus 5.52 - 13.43gn H&N FTT 5.53 - 14.66gn Predator Polymags (Size not listed) - 16gn The JSBs and FAPs went into the barrel pretty easy without the need to seat them. The FTTs sat just inside the top of the bore with only a little more resistance. The Polymags went about half way then, had to be pushed in to seat properly. None of the pellets changed the fee
  9. Now I've got it set up with a Hawke Vantage Max 4-12x40 ao in a Dampa mount, I fancied trying a few pellets through it this morning. I gave it a rough zero a few days ago with regular JSB Exacts - I ended up having to shim the front scope ring on the mount. This morning I tried to fine tune the zero, again with the same JSBs. Now, this is a cracking little rifle to shoot - it's a proper carbine break barrel with a single action trigger. You really have to concentrate on what you're doing and, be very definite with your shot and follow through. ...
  10. Cheers Mark ....... I did think about your deep fried squirrel - I remembered seeing it on here before - How long do you cook it for? I'm using Falcon Accuracy Plus pellets and, an original MTC Viper 3-12x50 with an SCB reticle, on X10 mag. Thanks for the tip, I will give that a go ....... I have been coming up past the target, over the top and down through it while holding 1st stage then, releasing the shot and following through as I come down onto it. ..... I can see how a straight up and down might help
  11. I reckon it was - I bought it a couple of years ago from another forum. I can't remember who from now.
  12. Cheers mate - it was a cracking morning
  13. Cheers Si I don't think he's had it long - it was christened yesterday. Edit: Squirrel can go really tough but, I found doing it in the oven, then cooking it in a sauce makes it tender
  14. My Dad once pulled me to one side for a chat. He said 'Don't do that son, you'll go blind'. I said 'I'm over here Dad'.
  15. Dave didn't want the squirrels as he's already got a few and some rabbits in his freezer so, I took them. I decided to try a shepherds type thing with them this time While I was skinning the first one, I found the pellet just under the skin behind it's shoulder - it looked like it had passed right through the head, neck and shoulder and, come to a stop before exiting. I put both squirrels into the oven for around 25mins - with a little olive oil and covered with foil. When they were done, I picked the meat off and chopped it into smaller bits -
  16. Dave and me prefer to hunt differently - Dave will happily stay in the same spot for hours and pick off his quarry as it comes along. I prefer to walk a bit, then keep still for a while, looking for things to give themselves away. When we got to the first part of the top woods, Dave got himself tucked into a bush, 20yrds from the feeder and, I set off. The first thing that caught my eye was a pigeon landing in a tree on the edge of the woods. ....... It took a while to find it but, through the scope, I could see it's feet and the bottom 1/3rd of it's body, th
  17. I popped up to the Manor house permission with Dave from Black Cat yesterday - He'd spotted a hide and feeder up there that he fancied having a go at I loaded the car, dropped little 'un and her mate off at school and, met Dave outside the farm shop just after 8. Dave took his .177 HW95, I took the .177 TX - I had the Si Brown MK1 silencer on mine but, I wrapped it in camo tape so that the shiny bits wouldn't get spotted. It's been a while since I've been in these woods and, everything has grown well - it makes things harder to spot but, it's also harder to
  18. All sorted mate I've got a meeting in Bridgend on the the 12th but, I've had the following weekend booked off for weeks now - Hopefully the Black Cat event will go ahead but, if not, I'm happy to have a whole weekend hunting and shooting
  19. You're definitely making that 100 earn it's keep mate - good shooting Hope you find the mag.
  20. I don't think Davy comes on here much nowadays Rob - especially if he's busy with work and the FB group. I'm still up for the dates given
  21. For a Prosport, that's my thoughts on it as well The ones I've shot have always had a very sweet firing cycle without any work being done. Besides, would chucking more money at it make those groups any better?
  22. That's actually not a bad shout - I did some testing with Polymags and H&N Bracuda Hunter Extremes in my .177 HW100. The Polymag shorts were a lot better than the longer version. ........ I found the shorts to be very accurate up to 40yrds. From 45yrds the groups opened up a lot. Within that range, I found those pellets to be very effective.
