  1. Many moons ago, I worked as a picker in the Hayes freezer warehouse in Theale, near Reading. ......... It was minus 35 degrees in there - we were given Otter fur lined boots as part of our kit - animal fur is a fantastic insulator
  2. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw it
  3. That is seriously impressive
  4. It didn't take you long to christen that or, to get used to the new calibre Good work mate.
  5. No mate, it's the same here - they bugger off as soon as I get the riffle out of the bag.
  6. This is like a 'THL users own up to owning Chihuahuas' thread Seriously though - they're cracking little watch dogs ......... Them big ears don't miss anything.
  7. Not on a stock but, I used a fabric camo tape, the type that only sticks to its self, to build up the grip on a catty. ........... Pulled round tight, it works well.
  8. That's the one good thing about Magpies - they are pretty easy to kill if they come within range ........ Nice one Mark
  9. I use JSB Heavies in mine - they fly well and they hit hard. I have heard that Daystate heavies are pretty much the same pellet.

    Making do

I've stood on worse Kanny To be fair, it looks pretty stable. ....... Stay on the balls of your feet, knees slightly bent and, if you end up going over, throw the trimmer well away from you'll land. Good luck
  12. That sounds like a cracking day mate ........ I was at work, seeing the sunshine out the window. You can't beat a nice bit of grub that you've got yourself, with a nice cold cider - especially on a day like this
  13. That pork's going to be top notch when it's done
  14. They can rent mine for a grand a week If any one breaks in and tries to nick your chicken wings, she'll have their fingers off

    Sabs

I might go and troll that web site later ....... It should be a giggle after a few Henrys in the sun
  16. I like that - good idea
  17. Nice one Mark ........ And well done to your nephew Honestly, I don't think there's anything wrong with starting them off on a PCP nowadays - the easy accuracy will keep them interested ......... Besides, we all turn puritan and reach for a Springer eventually. Let him have a crack mate - he'll soon get a real flavour when he has to run in and neck his first cock up ....... It happens to us all at some point. Atb to you both
  18. Cheers for letting me know Ollie Atb mate
  19. The Beeman C1 has arrived Well, it actually arrived yesterday but, I've only just put the scope and sling on. ......... It's a cracking little .22 springer. Reading up on it, the yanks rate it as a mini magnum springer. Either way, I'm going to have a lot of fun with this A big 'Thank you' to Ethan, Jimmy and Si Jimmy for agreeing to the swap and doing a cracking job on the restoration, Si for polishing up the innards and fitting a new spring and bespoke spring guide and, lastly, thank you to Ethan for letting it go when it holds sentiment
  20. In the words of Monty Python - 'You lucky, lucky b*****d' Has she got any sisters? Oh yes, all most forgot - Nice rifle. ...... Enjoy it mate, it's a cracking bit of kit

  23. That actually doesn't surprise me - I've dealt with them a few times now and, Ady and Mandy are both spot on
  24. Honestly mate, you've just answered your own question I'd forget the roller and stick with a good quality brush. Yes, it'll take longer but, the finish will be better. Also, as it's your own house, you can just do 1 or 2 at a time, as time allows. ...... They'll all be finished soon enough
