The one that I remember is a little old Scottish chap called Mr Semple - he was my form tutor and my English teacher in my first year at secondary school. If the truth be told, I was such a little c**t at that time that, he would've been well within his rights to write me off but, he never did. ....... He hung in there with me, despite the amount of chairs and tables that I threw around classrooms. Whenever I got suspended, he always gave a lift home - he was always trying to learn Russian with a tape in his car. His wife passed maybe 20yrs ago now, he
  3. I've been using a range finder that a mate gave me 4yrs ago when I came back to air rifles - I've no idea what make it is, the only markings are 'JSR' in white letters, I guess it could have come from Ramsbottoms. It's been absolutely faultless and only needed 1 new battery in the time I've had it. I did once read that golf range finders are pretty much the same but, cheeper because, anything to do with shooting can have a premium whacked on. ...... I've never needed to look into it myself but, it might be worth investigating
  4. She's a poisonous little twat - stick her head on a pole in London for treason
  5. Like Mark says mate, it's looking a lot better than the original finish already As for the cap, I say go for it ...... If you're going to make your own cap, why make it like the original? - put your own stamp on it
  6. I'd say leave it like that mate - the grain's showing really well
  7. Nice one Webbo I've never had a 110 but, if there anywhere near a 100 you won't go wrong
  8. Umm, Dan, mate, she's laying there like that and, you're looking at THL?
  9. I agree Mark - there definitely more satisfying to get a good result with ......... Can't fault your sentiments at all mate - the only PCP that I own now is the 100.
  10. I think the original part is plastic Dave so, it probably wouldn't last. Jimmy, have you got Davys number ? ........ He's doing some really nice stuff with blades at the moment so, I reckon it would take him minutes to knock up a new metal cap like that
  11. It's looking good mate ........ It's sometimes hard to see all that nice grain with that lacquer that the manufacturers bung on there. And, you know I like that wood and silver look
  12. That is looking good mate ...... I've got a TX cocking handle here somewhere - I never even thought about putting it on there. Any idea what you'll finish the stock with yet?
  13. I've been checking Hermes tracking all bloody morning - it said that Cols FN12 was delivered but, your 77 is still showing as being at the local depot - I should have just looked in here I'm glad you're happy with it mate ...... I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out Atb mate
  14. It doesn't get any better than that mate
  15. That sounds like a right pain in the arse mate. ...... Are they gypsies or just people on holiday? With any luck, they'll be gone soon and you can crack on as normal My 100 is the same - it shoots quite a few pellets well but, it loves them JSB Heavies
  16. That it does mate ....... I actually like the shot cycle - I can see why the yank sites say to point and shoot with no fannying around
  17. Do both mate - mine was a very relaxing afternoon
  18. Cheers Jimmy ...... I do like shooting that Beeman - it takes a completely different technique. It's almost a controlled snatch on the trigger. ...... It forces you to be very definite about what you're doing I've done nothing to it since it arrived - Nice isn't it
  19. Now, it's flip flops and cold cider in the sun while the missus is cooking dinner I love this weather. Have a good evening chaps
  20. Driving down the lane on the way out, this silly bugger and his mate emerged from the hedgerow and ran along in front of the car - they didn't seem to care that 2 tons of motor was coming up behind them His mate soon took off but, this one was stubborn - he made me wait for him
  21. Due to my shooting skills with classic springers, rezeroing took a while - I'm still not sure I'm quite there but, I had a cracking couple of hours The club is out in the sticks and, the woods are now in full bloom. It was also good to see some friends at the club This target was 27yrds away - .22 FAPs from the Beeman on the left and, .177 FAPs from the Mercury on the right. ...... The Beeman now has the Hawke Sport 4x32 ao with duplex reticle and, the Mercury has the 3-12x40 Vantage Max half Mildot in Si's mounts ....... I just thought they'd
  22. It's been a long ol' week - I've done 6 1/2 days because one of my staff had a bereavement in the family. I originally had today booked as holiday (I usually always work weekends) but, my boss wanted to come down Anyway, this morning I thought feck it and, put a couple of rifles in the boot. As soon as my boss was done and gone, I gave him 10mins to get on the road, rang him and, told him I'm off early Black Cat is only 4 miles from work I've been meaning to switch over scopes on the Mercury Challenger and Beeman C1 and, since Si very kin
  23. People knock Hermes but, I've sent a few rifles with them now and, they've always got there fine - it takes 2-3 days but the prices are good and you can track the item. It has to be well wrapped mind - couriers and sorting office staff will throw the parcel ....... The best way is to separate the action and stock to shorten the package. Then wrap both really well - bubble wrap is good because it weighs feck all and takes impacts well. Lastly, thick cardboard and shit loads of sellotape. Also, lie through your teeth about what's in the parcel - people get real
  24. I'll post it up if he'll drop it off in Swindon
