  1. No problem matey, you can reset the scope how you like it. I use JSB Exact RS for my feral pigeon and ratting but I am a bit short so you will have to use the pellets you have / prefer. We can meet up on the route if you like, perhaps Caenby Corner on the A15 between Lincoln / Scunthorpe which is about half way for both as I am in one of the villages on the south bank of the Humber near Barton. Off out in a short while to do some testing on my pal's rimfire so will pick up any response from you then. I will be out on the pigeon this evening then rabbits at a couple of perms but could driv
  2. Cheeky twat I cannot fault the groups Jamie but please understand most people could wipe the floor with me at the moment as I am having to use a NiteSite to shoot which is useless for seeing an 8mm spot target. The sooner I get my hospital date for surgery the better. Look Jamie, I tell you what mate, why don't you just borrow my HW110k and take it and try it yourself for a week. Phil
  3. I love crow shooting and get plenty in during the next couple of months. The things that have worked for me are that I only ever now use flocked deeks as they work !!!! Set your hide up a couple of days at least before you shoot Ensure you have at least one deek on a spring stand, better using a flocked shell deek for this. Use a QUALITY crow call and learn how to use it. Be prepared to use an old green nylon fishing brolly with camo net draped over. Leave about 18'' between the brolly and the top of the hide. This limits your gun swing on high birds but believe me it
  4. You lads must be on three Shredded Wheat for your breakfasts if not you need to be carrying those HEAVY springers all round the fields. The 77 is a real looker Jon but too heavy for me. Phil
  5. Mark is about right, they are selling on the forums for around £125. That is the price I will expect to get for mine if I buy a Discovery scope........................when they have some stock. Phil
  6. Exactly right Mitch, that is just what I was thinking. Phil
  7. If you hear anything on .25 Mitch, please let me know. I have been thinking about a .30 barrel kit for the Impact and at 80fpe should be an interesting setup. Something for the future I think. Phil
  8. I have a friend on another forum using them but they are not available for .25 yet although as soon as they are, I will be trying them. Phil
  9. No idea for your country but here in the UK as far as I know, it has not been in great demand as most people prefer the dedicated rifle rather than this system. I love FX rifles but would not buy one of these. Phil
  10. This thread was posted in 2012 so I think the fishing trip has already passed or at least I hope so. Welcome aboard Paul, you are not the first to respond to a very old thread and you will not be the last ? Phil
  11. My pal and myself were having a look at a deserted farmhouse next to one of our perms, a few trees in the garden area stuffed with crows, there must have been about 70+ birds take off as we looked around. the upstairs windows have been broken and loads of pigeon came flying out. Would love to get this for a perm. Phil
  12. I am off tonight to try with the air rifle as they are dropping in to roost in the bare trees. No idea if it is going to work but been keeping an eye on things so I will give it a try. Phil
  13. I don't think anyone could disagree with HW having the best mags on the market. Phil
  14. Hey up Dave We have very large numbers of pigeon over here Dave but the problem is that they seem to be sticking with certain rape fields where they are dropping in on the tractor wheel tracks, then working their way in to the crop. To be honest I have not seen them do this before as there is very little goodness at the bottom of rape crop. On other patches there are flocks of between say 50 and 200 birds that fly in together, one shot and the whole flock is gone. One perm has this isue with about as there are about 100 birds hitting the rape every day so a shot over the field and they bu
  15. A barrow is very useful to get all the gear we tend to carry and as already said, unless the farmer has said we can drive on the stubble, we NEVER drive over a crop field. These work well, depending how big your car is but the fishing carts in the first link are designed to take apart as are all fishing carp trolleys. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ABODE-Carp-Fishing-Folding-Wheel-Barrow-XL-Trolley-Porter-Underslung-Tidy/163431676043?epid=1923170318&hash=item260d49788b:g:ocoAAOSwHMJYKGYa https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/75L-Heavy-Duty-Garden-Dump-Truck-Tipping-Trailer-Trolley-C
  16. Last year, I tried a few boxes of Hull Cartridge, Superfast Pigeon, 29gr, 6 shot in both Fibre and plastic. I found them to be a cracking cartridge for decoying, cheaper and lighter in the shoulder. I have just cleared out an assortment of shells as I now only use the Superfast although I do not like Superfast 27gr 7s as a clay load, really don't rate them but many do and they are cheap but I will pay an extra tenner per slab and stick with Eley Superbs. Phil
  17. I live in one of the villages on the south bank of the Humber. You don't need super kit and can even use a carp rod if the wind is not blowing a hooley. Warmer weather and good old dendrobena earthworms will work well for flatties fished on the bottom with 5 or 6 on the hook. Plenty of places to fish and you can pick up bait from Immingham Tackle. I think I am still listed as a casting instructor for 'Sea Angler' magazine so if you need some help, send me a pm I will this year be setting up a large tank for shrimps which I can net from Cleethorpes and they make superb baits all year round
  18. The food you are putting down is easily picked up so the rats can run off with it. As mushroom said, try peanut butter but I find like humans, it is a love or hate product but if it works, brilliant. Nutella is good and so is cat food liquidised with a bit of cooking oil and honey can be good as well but the main thing is to put a food down that they cannot run away with. An air rifle is by far the best tool for the job, I have over the past few years been shooting hundreds and hundreds of rats each year with the air rifle and NV kit, great sport. Phil
  19. Nice one Ron, good result with a great gun. What power do you run air rifles at down under. An old neighbour of mine used to drive trucks in your country and he told me back in the 1970's you could just stop the truck out in the wilds, take your pistol and simply fire into the field, which normally would result in a bunny or two for lunch which was cooked at the side of the road. Never sure if that was bullsh1t or true. Phil
  20. It certainly looks impressive Si, I have never been able to sus Chairgun out at all, I know I know it's me being fcuking useless with tech computer stuff and such pretty colours. I though you and Mitch were saying a while ago that Hawke were closing Chairgun down or was that just me having one of my many senior moments just before anyone says anything. Phil
  21. I think it would be a low cost chrono to have down range, no real issue if shot and handy to take down range readings because lets be honest how ofter does anyone take down range reading although handy at times so a Chrony at £110 is quite a difference. Phil
  22. Yes sorry beans. are they about Si as it looks a nice spot on the far hedge. How about the enforcer bouncer, what do you think.
  23. Are you on that drilled wheat Si Phil
  24. Well done that man. I am lucky really because none of my perms are more than 10min drive with three being within 5mins, I think that is quite unusual nowadays and when you think these cover around 5500 acres in all. Phil
  25. Wish I knew what all that mean't Rez. ? Phil
