It's rude to mock the elderly you barstewards ? Phil

Good grief Sean, you are quite right......................................................................I keep on having these senior moments, must see the doctor again ? Phil

You need to say which HW100 it is as well, ie HW100TK etc and also what scope is fitted with the range data ie 3-12x50mm otherwise people will be sending you messages all the time. A bottle out of date is worth about £25-30 as a retest is approx £45-65 depending who it goes to as the price seems to vary a hell of a lot but that is also influenced by the RFD. Good luck with your sale Trigger Phil

Many years ago when I still lived in Sheffield, my pal and I used to shoot huge numbers of rooks / crows every spring using that same method of a large owl and dead bird or two. We had to shoot as many as possible as the crows will take the eyes out of young lambs so the farmers hate them. Most good days were over 100 bird days with our best being 174 in the session. The owl was only really effective for us until the young crow were flying then it lost it's usefulness and we rarely used it in the same place twice because as we all know they are clever birds. Phil

Looks superb value for money, I wonder if a fpe version would be available if requested. Phil -
It would appear that some of the guide lines and information I had is perhaps not nesessarily true if you guys have not had issues with moisture which is great and I am seriously surprised because that has been a major factor and therefore the fitting of a moisture trap. It does make the product a lower cost item IF you can get away with it. As for me, I am a lazy ole tart so it's an air tank every day of the week, I think I would finish up with a heart attack if I went for a pump. ? I hope it all works well for you matey. Phil

Okay lets just get this right, the Anschutz stock just din't suit me, I never felt comfortable with that gun so I am quite sure you are correct that some of the issues were in my head. The bottom line is that the post above are my thoughts so ease back boy.......... We all have beliefs as to what works for us and my post reflects just that and is something you cannot argue with because these are my methods not yours and my name is on the bloody post so have the good manners to use it instead of referring to me as 'he'. You clearly enjoy reading what you write but please read my last thre

I stayed with subs using RWS 40gr which gave by far the best groups. I used the 22lr for rabbits at a max range of around 100mt. I know by using HV shells, I could have increased the range but I NEVER found any advantage with the 22lr using subs over my FX Impact .25 fac. I did try HV but it was much louder, perhaps more effective mods are available but I was not keen on the rifle so not prepared to mess around with it. As a matter of interest, I am going to try out a Browning T-Bolt on HV shells to see what sort of results we get. This is not so easy at the moment as I have an eye proble

A bit complex but in essence yes you can choose BUT I have a cataract in my left eye as well which is nowhere near ready to have surgery as yet. If I had a totally corrected lens, it will require surgery in the other eye as well. I have reading glasses but whilst I should have normal glasses as well but I do just fine without so what level of correction do I have ??? I think there will be some correction but how much, I don't know yet. I will just be happy when I can have the surgery. Phil

Only had a wood for one year as a game syndicate bought the rights BUT I used an old fishing brolly with a bit of netting over the top and quite a few slits in the brolly in order to shoot directly above. That worked a treat but it was their set roostiing / nesting area. I had some great sport there while it lasted but I found that I needed to be there at least a couple of hours before they started to fly in because they just seemed to sense there was danger otherwise. Hmmm, I want another wood. Phil

Were you using decoys today. I must admit I love shooting crows over deeks with the shotgun and the flock deeks are vastly better than the hard plastic. Phil

I popped down to my nearest perm, 5 mins away, as they always have issues with crows on the dairy farm BUT these birds are very twitchy to say the least. I had to site myself in one of the open ended barns ready for the crows as they land to pinch cattle feed that has been spilled out on the floor. This venue is normally quite windy being half a mile in from the sea and fac rifles do much better in the side winds but today it didn't help one little bit as I just kept missing, close but not bang on. A quick test showed things were ok with the scope BUT when I had any converging / low contr

I sold my rimmy because my FX Impact .25 did everything the rimmy did with cheaper ammo. I confess that I didn't get on with the gun which was an Anschutz but the stock just didn't suit me and in some ways I think another rimmy with HV ammo would be far more useful than subs ammo. Just my opinion. Phil

Great shot, I love to see deer wandering around my perms.

Blimy, the rape at your neck of the woods is much further advanced than in my area. We have a few flowers starting to show but most is in bud and nowhere near ready to flower yet. Phil
-
Pass sorry, I can only tell you the problems that have happened to people and what is written about the pumps, I would never have one to be honest, give me the Air tank every day of the week. Phil
-
We are getting large flocks on both the edges of rape field but loads on grass after clover but very very difficult to decoy / shoot as they fly together 200 birds land, 200 birds take off. One shot and they are in the next county, waste of time. peas in next month however so fingers crossed. Phil

STR I can only agree with Jon, there doesn't look to be a moisture trap and sorry to say but I would not use it in my guns as the moisture is going to enter the gun. Try and get your money back is my best advice. The Hills pump that Jon has put up is a better quality unit and if you must go this route, that is a far far better plan. Sorry STR Phil

The Sabel guns were sold by Gunmark now known as GMK but as they do not list Sabel guns, I am guessing they are no longer made however replacing springs should not be an issue Si and most true gunsmiths would have some to suit. Perhaps Rob at Pickering Guns as you are working there and there is the other RFD up there who I have not been to so far so with a bit of luck it may be an easy fix matey. Says me who is 90 miles away....................? Phil

The biggest problem using my gun Jimmy is that you will have to give it back. ? We will sort it mate. Phil

And there arn't many who can cook a meal while turning something down on the lathe ? Phil
-
Good, pleased you are happy with it. Does it have a moisture trap and release system. Phil
-
Don't worry about that Jimmy, I will bring a spare gun or two. Phil

Well some people click with the clays straight away and some don't. It also makes a big differenc to shoot at clays coming in different directions and that can make you smile or cry of course. The main thing is above everything else, 'ENJOY IT'. We must sort a date for the next session at a ground with a good selection of targets. Phil

When you get the bouncer Dave, you will see the wings and tail are flat, keep them that way. I have simply got two pieces of plastic the full size to cover the wings and tail and taped it so they remain flat. It could be two pieces of 4mm ply, anything to keep them flat because that makes a huge difference to the way they 'fly' on the bouncer, trust me on this. Here you go Dave Phil
