It was a shame but snow up North (further north) with really heavy rain and gales for Si and myself, to be honest there is no fun shooting in those conditions so a 'rain' check was in order. I have eye surgery on Thursday but a couple of weeks should 'see' me able to shoot again, might even hit something......... Phil

Your best bet is to give BSA technical department a quick phone call or email but I doubt there is any difference in the stock. Phil
-
Only wish I had been able to get on with it Jimmy but it was not to be and yes you should have had it back mate. Never saw any pictures of the kids using it either. Phil
-
Not a million miles from me Jimmy so if you want it, I can sort out collection mate. Phil

I have the bottle band linked to a Deben bipod which is far better BUT these Atlas copies are quick and easy to use. My is now starting to have a few issues and needs a bit of modding to get it back working as well as before which may well be a washer or two adding to sort it. I will have a look at your tomorrow Si if you don't mind. Phil

The new super compact is £540 and should be in Countryway now. For higher end take a look at the new AGT Uragan, very interesting and in the same vein as the Impact, certainly in style. Phil
-
Yes I was looking at the info on the new compact being brought in by Countryway guns. It looks quite interesting about £550 if I recall correctly. Phil

Nice bunch Si. Just make sure you clean under the stairs mate, I WILL check ??? Hippies .................... That was my time, bell bottom jeans, flip flops and tie dye t shirts. Wearing my flip flops now, I'm serious. Phil

Good job I left it in the antique centre then and I knew you have been a little bit busy just recently Jimmy. ? Phil

Here we go another new old gun for refurbishment. This time a pigeon decoying hide gun but I feel it is going to take all Jimmy's skill to make this one into the gun I want ? FAC of course.............................The best choice ? Phil

Number site have air rifle range out to 65mt with both knock down targets and also electric driven targets but whilst you are undercover, the targets are outdoors. The ground is few miles from Hornsea on the East coast and is a very good clay shooting ground as well. Not what you asked for, I know but about an hour and a quarter from Leeds area. Phil
-
How far are you prepared to travel and what length range is needed. I know of one in Doncaster, Rotherham and Scunthorpe. Phil

Very nice indeed MT, well done. Phil

It sounds like a perfect opportunity To go to get a load of various pellets and see which works for your gun, then see what the chrono s reads. I recall reading that .177 is not popular in the US because they don't respond well to higher power in terms of wobbly flight path. I am not qualified but my thoughts for what they are worth, a .177 pellets at normal sub 12 power can and often does go straight through the head of a rabbit so would a higher power .177 do no more damage than a sub powered pellet. Probably the reason that most fac air hunting is done with .22, .25 and popular in som

Oh my word, she looks stunning mate. Trish just said that she thought you had done an amazing job but I told her you sent it away to be done..............??? Brilliant mate, I just can't get over how she looks. Phil

Just got back from a meal out so a bit late looking at the post. Wow what a transition Jimmy, you have my sincere thanks my friend for this little gun, I am truly grateful mate. My thanks to Sean again for your input to sort those issues with the piston and seals. When I first showed this rusty worn out little gun on here, taking a few hours to think about what and how to do the work needed and I knew then that this was way out of my comfort zone. I confess that I was well aware that it this gun was to be any good, I needed the very capable help of Jimmy and as it turns o

BSA R10SE FAC bolt problem
philpot replied to 1774pete's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Most FX issues come from sub12 rifles but I agree they are expensive. The after sales from both AS I the importer and FX in Sweden is nothing short of superb Pete so scrap that thought. For God's sake do not buy Daystate, talk about had aftersales, they are the worst by far, just ask some of turbine on here or any forum in the UK. None of the dealers that I go to will deal with tHem and whatever problem you may have............it's your fault. Never known anyone with a 510 fac so can't comment. Phil -
Nice one BN and as said at least you made it out there. We have quite a spread of mixi on our big perm so very few rabbits around at present. Enjoy........... Phil

BSA R10SE FAC bolt problem
philpot replied to 1774pete's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I understand where you are coming from Pete. Just be VERY careful regarding HW100 fac as there are very few around and from what I gather, for a good reason....... FAC market leaders old faithful Rapid and FX range. I have the FX Impact .25, brilliant gun but a lot more expensive than the BSA. One thing to take into account is that FX manufacture what we call FAC rated guns and reduce power for one of two countries including UK which means they have massive knowledge and experience which is why they are bloody good. Today I have been to the gun shop....
philpot replied to secretagentmole's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Did you happen to have five free slots on your ticket for these or are they being held for you while you get the slots on your ticket. Interesting collection I must say. Since I sold my Anschutz .22 rimmy which I really didn't get on with the stock, I have toyed with a different rimmy, they are just handy tools to have but if I do get another, it will be with a fully adjustable stock and stick with HV shells. Sorry I am waffling on as is my want....................age !!!! Phil -
Rez, you met Dave at the bell target night.
-
Sean, as Jimmy has already said a big thank you from me matey, I am very grateful to you both. Jimmy knows I really appreciate the tremendous effort put into this little rifle and he explained via phone text what had to be done with the seals. You would think when you buy the actual part specified by the supplier, that it would actually bloody fit. Luckily, I had two good friends who were there to help me out and take charge of this work. Cheers boys Phil

Yes so I think we are going down and staying over somewhere. Phil

I received my my BASC magazine yesterday and in it was a sheet of paper regarding the upcoming council elections. I had a quick flick through but was not expecting to see anyone in our field of interest BUT to my surprise was a name I knew, Dave Carter who runs the bell target events around Market Rasen, Nr Lincoln. Dave is passionate about all forms of rifle shooting and is 'Development officer for Lincolnshire Small Bore Rifle Assocation ' and therefore a voice for our side of the sport. Those of you in BASC might think to give Dave Carter a chance on the council by voting for him,
