  1. Yes really pleased with this Matt and can't wait to show my pal who gave me the rifle in the first place. Our Jimmy has seriously done me proud. Phil
  2. It should have said the following, I hate predictive text Much better than SM in my humble opinion. Bloody shame they don't make picatiny mounts. Phil
  3. Gone better than AN in my humble opinion. Bloody shame they don't make picatiny mounts. Phil
  4. Like it like it very much. Phil
  5. I will arrange something Jamie but the next couple of weekends are difficult. Just a thought, Crawford's in Scunthorpe have a 25mt range at the shop, I could leave it there for you to use on the range of you want. Phil
  6. And you can always have a play with mine Rez.............The rifle that is ?
  7. Pete, have you been to the new range in Sleaford that I heard about on another forum. if the problem is still there, it would be worth having a word with Phil Crampton of Rat works fame as he does a lot of work with BSA rifles and even though there would be a cost, at least you will have the rifle you thought you were getting in the first place. Phil
  8. I like some bullpup rifles but I really cannot get on with cocking levers next to your ear so I avoid those. I have had a couple of FX Wildcats which are lovely to use and own an FX Impact which I love. Last year I bought the new Weihrauch HW110K carbine which is a normal rifle but shorter and much lighter, very nice to use and far cheaper than my FX guns. Having had quite a few standard length rifles, I confess that I far prefer using shorter rifles but it is a personal choice really. HW110k Phil
  9. Bloody fantastic Jimmy. it's going to look much better than it did originally Jon. Phil
  10. It's about time that extra spot on the ticket was sorted and order placed RFB so what are you doing ...................? Phil
  11. Mine doesn't seem to handle fac power so don't use it now and tend to use my RFD's Skan unit instead. Just buy a new chronic soon. Phil
  12. I made a big mistake and sold my Alfa, kept the Combro, big mistake.............. Phil
  13. I have been thinking about this today and totally agree Sean, I think that is by far the best way to go. It is also in keeping with the original finish. Phil
  14. I take your point Sean, I had a look through the new POA or is it PAO, whichever...... just released and a demo unit was in my RFD so I had a look through but it was not on a gun so I was struggling to see properly. I put it on 7x mag which was not bad but that is the only one I have looked through. I am curious to see what things will be like after my eye op hence taking a bit of time at the show in May. Phil
  15. I am not going to jump into any scope until I have had the surgery and it has settled down and ok again. I have to say as my eyes are getting worse so the trend for very fine cross hairs is not too great for me but an FFP may help or at least I thought that it might help.
  16. I have some Grizzly .25 Si if you want to try some. I found them to be fcuking useless with awful groups but if you want a laugh, you are indeed welcome to try. Phil
  17. Sounds good Si. Mine has taken quite a few quarry to that distance and beyond but I tend to be a bit but and miss with the eye problems so keeping in a bit closer for now.
  18. Yes, I phoned them on Friday but they are now not so sure they will be at the show so I am going to get in touch with SureShot as they are a dealer and taking a stand at the show. MTC have their new FFP scope out as well, I think it is the cobra F1 but they prone to white out on other models so will this new one be the same. Dealers for Discovery are bloody miles from me, Cleveland and Birmingham so 2hrs minimum. I said the the chap that they need dealers in Yorks, Notts, Lincs but I don't think he could be bothered to chase new business. The scopes might be good but he didn't impress m
  19. What differences have you found Si with the 700mm barrel compared to the standard. I think I perhaps it is time to look at the newer improvements available for the Impact along with a FFP scope which I will be doing at the Northern Shooting Show but all this will be wasted if I am still struggling with my eye. I am booked in at the end of March for my cataracts so hoping my aim improves then........... Phil
  20. I have no idea what the legal limit is on within power in NZ but assuming there is no limit as in the USA, I will guess at around 18fpe. Phil
  21. I have to say Jimmy that whilst bluing is the best method, we are talking about a cheap junior rifle when new so I am not too concerned which course of action you take my friend. I am doing a search for the Hoppes Gun Blue Kit we talked about yesterday and will ask two shops I know sell Hoppes products if they either sell it or can get it. That said, black paint will keep it original or leaving it bright as it is now could look good with the darker stock. Once I have done a bit of research on the bluing kit, I will let you know, in fact I am clay shooting shortly and two RFDs will be the
  22. One of my all time favourite quarry. Shot one in the garden a couple of days ago and boy do they respond really well to flocked decoys when you are well covered up. They have amazing eye sight. Phil
