  1. For god's sake don't decide to replace it with a new one or you will be so so sorry. Nice to hear yours is good. East coast..............where abouts on the east coast are you. Phil
  2. I used to do quite a bit of business in Southend staying overnight at the Roslyn Court hotel and sea fishing at night if the tide was right but in all honesty, I timed my visits to make sure the tide was in. There are three dive centres in or close to Southend so they are worth a call. https://www.google.com/search?q=dive+centre+in+or+near+southend+on+sea&rlz=1CAFQZI_enGB842&oq=Dive+centre+in+or+near+southend&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j33.20089j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 There is also The Airgun Centre in Rayleigh which is not far from you. https://www.t
  3. Quote :- I’ve been grassed up for looking shifty with binoculars. Trust me Si, you look shifty without binoculars ? ?............................a bit like me really. Phil
  4. You are quite right meece, why would I want one...................................I didn't say that I did want one, I would like to know more about the calibre and to be honest it is easy to find stuff on the magic world of the internet but sometimes it is better to actually hear from people who might actually know something. My thought was that perhaps the Mach ll has similar design characteristics as the hmr, in other words a flatter trajectory but without the sheer pace so perhaps a better round for bunnies or of course a target round which could be interesting and the barrels are chea
  5. I have been looking at a Sako Quad in .22 WMR with the obvious thought that I could always get a spare barrel in another calibre. Now I know .22lr and .17hmr but can anyone tell me what is a .17 Mach ll and where does that fit in or compare with .17hmr. Any feedback would be most helpful guys. Phil
  6. Sods law has made it's presence felt Si. Swear a fair bit and then have a good coffee with one of your mega breakfasts ? Phil
  7. Si, you need to bring that down to our quarry perm as it would be perfect. I fancied a 20gauge version for this perm as there about 1500 pigeon dropping in and out of the quarry onto the rape and back in the quarry again. I did have a hold of a 12 gauge in the shop but it felt VERY front end heavy. Can we take that out sometime mate. Phil
  8. You could always pull a trailer behind the Bentley Mitch. Phil
  9. Lovely photos and a good session for the boys. Phil
  10. I must say my ammo for the .22lr as you know SD is the Hornady at 1160fps and of course go with CCI and run up to 1640fps which is certainly more than our Impacts will run at. The WMR will run from 1500 to 2200fps so the next level up from the .22lr for me and something I am looking forward to testing when I sort the gun. The bottom line is that both types of rifle have advantages and disadvantages to suit a whole range applications, some of which we don't always see as they are not obvious to us all. One thing is for sure we are all going to see some massive changes when the slugs beco
  11. Seriously bad news Mitch, very sorry to hear that mate. Phil
  12. Well the lotto has just been done so if my ticket comes up Jimmy, I will sort your van mate so you don't need to sell the Crown. We can add it to the list of things we said you and I will do if the other wins......... Phil
  13. If that suits you Sean then I am pleased for you matey, we all like different things and you clearly never really got on with fac air as previous posts in other threads showed, which is fine, my shooting partner and myself rate our Impacts very highly. You have now found your new interests with both rifles and clay shooting and whilst it gives you great pleasure, what more can you ask for. Phil
  14. I have to say that my go to rifle is my FX Impact .25 fac and will use this for rabbits out to 100+mts with no issues at all, used for ratting and pigeons. At the turn of a knob, I can reduce the fpe from 47 ft/lbs down to 24 ft/lbs so the range of use is huge. The main reason for me using my Tikka rimmy is on windy nights when fighting the battle between pellet weight Vs wind. For those who know about the developments in slug design for air rifles will know how much of a major improvement this is with hunting at almost 170mts, little wind effect and higher energy down range will and does c
  15. I have been shooting an FX Impact .25 fac for three years and love the calibre. I originally put in for a .25 plus a .22 barrel but in all honesty, the .25 has done everything I asked of it so I never bothered to by the .22 barrel set. Villaman will be along soon as he has a .25 Impact and a .22 Crown both fac and I know he loves the Crown. Whichever you go for, they are both superb in fac. Phil
  16. Well time for everything with four legs to look out in your neck of the woods Sean. ? I have also been looking at the Howa 1500 which seems to offer great value for money and at half the price of a Tikka T3x. Having worked with several Japanese companies and visited the factories over there a number of times, it is their culture to produce the best quality possible so with that in mind, I believe these must be decent guns, unless someone says different........ I really like my Tikka T1x but the price is sensible and I cannot help thinking you pay for the name when moving up to .223
  17. Berettas are a thing of beauty SD and shoot reeeeaaallly nice................................have you been on the pop fella. ? Phil
  18. If the Daystate works then fine but they have a really bad reputation, loads of dealers will not sell them because the company are shocking to deal with as others on here will tell you although there are a few that have been fine.................................it's cheap and perhaps for a reason. Daystate overprice their crap so this would not have been a cheap gun for the original owner so I guess it has issues. Phil
  19. Ah Walshie you just know whats coming ? Phil
  20. Yes have words with Jimmy, Big Mac, in the air rifle section. he has done loads of guns and one for me. A more helpful man you will not find. Phil
  21. You could always try a dry lube which as the name suggests is dry almost immediately. No nasty sticky stuff for residue to stick. I bought some on ebay for my semi auto shotgun which seems to work a treat. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K2-PTFE-Dry-Lubricant-Clear-Teflon-Grease-Spray-NO-SILICONE-Long-Protection-WD40/332555554828 Phil
  22. My pal's 019 came with a set of 5 additional lenses which just pop into the bellows, simply select the one that suits your eye. If you have to buy a set of lenses, they are only about £5. Phil
