  1. That was back in September so may not be at that price now. I didn't notice it was sept. until after I posted on the thread. Phil
  2. Due to weather issues this weekend, I didn't bother taking the gun out to test but today, Monday, I popped out with my pal for a walk around one of the perms. Well luck was not on my side with the birds breaking cover from the woods on my pal's side so he picked up a few pigeon and a pheasant but as I really wanted to try different cartridges as the main exorcise, I was still able to sort that out. I tried 30gr, 28gr, 24gr and 21gr and I can tell you that all cycled perfectly well which pleases me greatly as the lighter shells can be used by my daughter on clays. The other aspect was that
  3. I am pleased you posted this Jimmy because those who didn't know were able to see things were not right so as you have many friends on here, they are able to express their best wishes and without doubt everyone here will be thinking of you and all the family. If Natalie follows after Nicola and you, see will be a strong lady and judging by what I have seen my friend, she has that strength clearly. Best regards Phil
  4. I am not familiar with this scope BUT normally the very edge ring of the eye bell is turned to get the reticle in focus. I have not seen a lock ring at the point of the mag adjustment to control the focus. I am somewhat puzzled.........? Perhaps a call to the manufacturer or importer to download an owners manual / operating info. Phil
  5. Well that works Mitch, one hell of a group at that range mate. Phil
  6. You have this looking really nice Jimmy. If I buy a semi auto shotgun I have on test at the moment, I may be asking you to do your magic on the stock after I have stripped it all down but that is something we can talk about at some point. Sending you a text mate. Phil
  7. If you look on the right hand side you can just see the weaver rail that blacksheep fitted although I would be a bit nervous about screwing into the casing.
  8. Just been playing around with it and have to say it appears to be very well made, the parts are beefed up compared to many others so depending on how it performs, it is looking good. A different ejection cartridge 'grabber' which certainly looks fit for purpose, hoping you can see it in the photo's. I will spend some time cleaning the action parts if I buy it. I am going to push my luck when testing as I am going to test some lighter shells as well so my youngest daughter can shoot it at clays as my 32" Beretta DT10 is far too heavy for her. Phil
  9. Back to grass again today SD but thanks mate. Phil
  10. Here is the website for Pietta if you are interested. https://www.pietta.it/home-pietta-eng Phil
  11. I was in the RFD the other day looking for a cheap semi auto 12 guage for using in the hide. My first thought was a Hatsan, tough and cheap and saves me taking an expensive clay gun in the field. I looked at a couple of Hatsans, one being new for £400 including a slab of cartridges and a gun slip so very good value but then one caught my eye called a Mistral by Filli Pietta. Now I am the first to admit that I had never heard of them but it did feel very nice in the shoulder in as much as an auto can feel good because to me they are always a compromise when you are an o/u user nevertheles
  12. Thought you were very active on here at the moment ? Phil
  13. Quote:- Tomorrow is chores day for me, starting with the leaves! Bloody things are everywhere. I did my leaves yesterday, the quickest and easiest job..................................while the garden was flooded, all the leaves were floating so I walked around with the landing net and hey presto, all clear. Well, some good things have to come from the bad things, it just depends how you look at them...........................must have a look for the fish ? Phil
  14. Quote:- only six more months and we’ll be back in shorts moaning it’s to hot You know only to well Si that I will be back in my shorts very soon. ? Phil
  15. Just looking at Si photo, where could I get one of those black troughs from. I am guessing they are to mix cement in or something similar. They would be ideal for me to keep live shrimp in for bait, any suggestions welcome guys. Phil
  16. Swimming pool, now theres a thought, I could rent it out. Some areas near you Jon have had snow yesterday I understand. Phil
  17. Thankfully the rain stopped about 10pm and the tanker took 11 fills which equates to 27500 galls from the front and side of our cottage. we still have water across the garden but I am not too concerned about that. I just hope we get at least a full day of no rain to give the road gulleys a chance to run out to the sea wall. Our scenery from the cottage <a href="http://s1194.photobucket.com/user/roberts2610/media/20191108_070913_zps0urioewv.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="https://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/aa364/roberts2610/20191108_070913_zps0urioewv.jpg" b
  18. OOOh Si, the perfect set up, thermal spotter and nv to shoot with. Now that is ideal for me too. Phil
  19. As Jon says, we need to see a photo. When you bought the gun, did it specify what scope was fitted. Phil
  20. Having spent last Thursday night outside all night with the tankers pumping water away from our cottage......................................I have just made the call again for the tanker to come to the rescue. I am hoping we will keep on top of the problem because having lost the house for a year back in 2007, it is a horrific experience which I really hope we don't have to face again. I hope none of our members have been flooded and it stay that way. I have a friend whose daughter lives in Fishlake, near Doncaster where the entire village is flooded and her bungalow has 5' of water runn
  21. Are you going to use the 007 as a spotter Si.
  22. It is tricky mate, my shooting partner has an hmr who was also tempted to buy the Wildcat Panther which we were told WOULD reduce noise level but when talking to two different RFD's, they both said that the hmr round is supersonic and therefore it will not do a lot of good. My pal was going to get one on approval but nobody wanted to do that as they said it would be returned so no point. I also wanted a better mod for my .22lr when I use HV ammo but again was told not to bother as it was not worthwhile. The price indicated by Stavros at £80 for the DPT is not out of the way as the SAK is
  23. Okay then Mitch so you have an alternative.
  24. Ah right, I hadn't relised there was a price difference for cal size. That alters the balance somewhat. Phil
  25. Okay Jimmy at least now you know when the op is being done. Trish and I are thinking about you all mate so please let me know how she goes on. Fondest regards Phil
