  1. Shooting Nathen, as per. Compliments to you.
  2. The recently bought 77 has been put through a lot of target practice/ training since buying her from Jimmy, ( Big Mac 97 KT ) as i needed to get to know her spring rifle characteristics before any hunting with her. I`ve put the time and effort in lads and what a beautiful working classic she is. Just one of the many cards i`ve shot with her, achieving drawing pin head accuracy. So being very satisfied and very confident in accuracy levels achievable, i took her for one serious test on the little nursery woodland edge. Average ranges were 38- 43
  3. I paid Jon a £10 deposit on that 100 Jimmy, Honest Beautiful stock that Jon Twat ! By the way, excellent shooting Phil atb Mark.
  4. Put some different pellets to normal to test with the 77 lads. The H&N Field Target Trophy faired very well. Practice, practice, practice ,gradually getting to know her.
  5. Yes mate, they are. A few things in mind for her Rez . Lovely rifles.
  6. Sure i read some where that Sandwell are having a huge discount day in September( especially on BSA PCP`s) - yep,- 1st and 2nd of September. Rep`s from all the top dealers are to be there if anyone is interested ?
  7. Bought Jimmy`s old HW 77 .177 cal, and she arrived today. Very well packed Jimmy . Well, set her up, plumb lined and leveled the old Hawke scope i have spare, ( just to start her off with) . Then onto the range in my garden 38 yds zero. Didn`t take long to achieve 1st zero. Lovely, silky smooth action with the Sandwell Field Sports tune. She`s looking a great addition. Beautiful classic hunter. atb Mark.
  8. I`ve used clear pen tubes for years now. Remove the ink tube, select your pellets, load the pen tubes and away you go. You`ll never have distorted pellets again.
  9. I`ve only ever owned one Pro Sport. I can`t see myself owning another as the one i have now is " going nowhere" . She is untouched and here is her accuracy. Lovely rifles Grea but do try your other options first mate. Good luck !
  10. Welcome back to the forum Grae , Ditto to every word Jimmy, Big Mac has said. I shoot with a Pro Sport, TX 200 HC MK3, HW 97K, all .177 cal. The Pro Sport is the only one that`s untouched and boy has that rifle took some vermin. The only difference between any of these rifles, ( for me), is personal preference. atb Mark.
  11. This shocked me but when i enquired about the waiting time for a SFS tune it was 16 weeks . A good friend off this forum, - Pianoman, ( Simon), was selling his HW97K .177 that was tuned by a trusted gunsmith to him and had SFS internals and SFS spring fitted by him. My, is that rifle good. Here`s her first serious outing with me. Anyways, another good mate off here, Big Mac 97 KT, ( Jimmy) has sold to me a classic .177 HW 77 SFS tuned rifle that`s on it`s way. That rifle has been tuned by
  12. Does everyone`s fences " desperately need painting" as well ? Only saying like.
  13. Shooting John S`about time you shot something Compliments mate, Mark.
  14. No mate, not at all. Far fewer flies around now, they are all dead
  15. Not wishing to deflate this tragic accident at all. Most kids, for instance, love to carry a catapult,- no licence required. Cross bows - no licence required. Long bows - no licence required. Etc, etc. One day, not so long back at my club, the lads chronographed a Black Widow catapult with a steel ball at 28 ft/lbs without fully stretching the power available . So what is a cross bow`s power level, or a Long bow, or a car at 40 mph, a model airplane striking you etc, et
  16. Static hunting over shooting sticks - loves weight. Walking the fields, stalking, does not. I`ve used the old Mamba 4-16x50 on the HW 100KT for a good few years now for static hunting but never had I ever had need for more than 10x mag`. My Mamba 3-12x44 on my TX 200 on x10 mag`. My Mamba 4-16 x 44 on my Pro Sport on x 10 mag`. So yeah, as said by Jonny , a lot of scope for anything other than Target at 5-30x50, saying that I`ve just put an Air max 30sf 6-24x50 on my HW100 KS .22 ( static hunting),
  17. Welcome to the gang Gaz I remember my mate Steve, RFD telling me what a lot of gun you get for not a lot of money with the 900 W. They had the .22 version down the club one evening last year and were getting decent accuracy with it. Under one inch groups at 35 yds if I remember and very close to the 12 ft/lb limit. A 200 bar fill gives around 28 consistent shots in .22 whilst 25 shots in .177 off a 200 bar fill. Gaz, I`m a hunting lad and very rarely do I shoot above 15 shots
  18. A lot of flies with the heat and council not emptying our bins but demanding council tax Anyway - 1 large plastic bottle, punctured inwards with a pencil or similar, say 3 times. Put some liver inside the bottle filled to 1/3rd with water. Hang up near some bins if you like, bottle cap screwed tightly back on. As the smell gets stronger and more attractive, the more flies you will catch. Here`s two days worth,- must be a good 500 in there. Make a few lads, they knock lumps out of the fly population.
  19. Hmmmm No parking fees on the internet shopping either.
