one gun i always regretted selling, but got it back
mark williams replied to j j m's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I shot a FWB Sport 127 mk1 for 40 years, part chopped it for a new HW 100 KT .177 and " instantly missed it". So I found both the 124 ( scarce) and 127 again and they are staying. -
Top class Nathen, as per. Compliments mate atb Mark.

Yeah Twat, where`ve you been ? -
Allow me to tell you this tale from the horses mouth regards the TX 200, Pro Sport and the HW 97 all in .177. To make a long story short, I was shooting the TX with a little tip here and there from Davy T63 and getting some fine bags, still do. I went to my local range one evening, one of the lads was shooting a Pro Sport .22, I mentioned a good mate on the THL has been in my ear a while over the PS and may I try a few shots of his rifle. Well lads, I just could not miss with this rifle and bought one the very same we

Single shot pcp v multi shot pcp

Thanks but no thanks Phill, I`m only interested in Sub 12 hunting ranges , 35 yds and under is my ideal. Thoughts / experiences lads please ? -
I was watching a very well known air gun hunter on you tube just the other night and without being prompted he stated, " I much prefer the single shot pcp, as you get better accuracy". My initial thought was,- " did I hear that right" ? I re-wound, played it again and yes, that was said. Anyone any thoughts/ experience on this ? atb Mark.

You did well Jimmy . Not sure if you`ve seen Simon`s old 97 at work on the wood pigeons the other day, she took 54 picked up ( hunting section). You were right about the 97`s mate, I wouldn`t be without one now, in .177 cal.
-
What yer moaning about Jimmy, that`s a better group than you`ve shot all year at 35 yds.
-
Do you ever watch Tim Wells, Relentless Pursuits on you tube Phill ? I just can`t get enough of his films. I would love a few hunting trips with that lad and a good scrap with his brother

All sold this morning to the Birds of prey guy, Derek. -
"Your gonna need a bigger bag" Compliments to you lads, outstanding. atb Mark.

Well lads, I said stuff work I`m off shooting. I gave my newly acquired HW97K .177 cal ( purchased from Piano Man, Simon) a run out on the decoying. I employed my half wheel decoy pattern again, - always works a treat for air gun hunting. I used the Hawke Endurance with the German type 4 reticule I also bought from Simon for the first time on a serious session. I`ve loved this scope in practice/ training on the paper and both rifle and scope proved an "outstanding combination" this afternoon. Pr

Lovely looking rifle Jeff. atb Mark.

Good luck Eddy with your choice . On a personal preference, I feel there are " far better" pcp`s and spring rifles than a Compatto .22.

The finish of the Walther`s I would class as adequate. The TX finish is far superior as is the PS and 97K. It all adds up.£££ Some external short cuts to cover the cost of the internals in my humble opinion. When the Walther mk2`s comes along with a trigger to match the following, I`ll be first to the RFD, until then I`m TX 200, 97k and PS.

This time of year, my cool leaf suit jacket, face mask and gloves with dark tracky bottoms. Try and stay with as much loose, cotton type material as possible , no keys, money or abrasive noises. atb Mark.

I have and use the HW 100`s in both calibres Phil. HW 100 KT .177 HW 100 KS .22 I use the HW 100 KT .177 far more than the KS .22. As long as you know your mill dots, the .22 is every bit as smooth and accurate as the .177 . I much prefer the very flat trajectory and speed of a light .177 pellet at sub 12 ft/lbs level. Good luck with your choices Phil

I used to go to the AIR range ( Atherton Indoor Range) as well and can vouch for them also. There is also a range in Leigh, under Bolton gun club. Both are good ranges.
