Compliments lads Excellent shooting. atb Mark

I`m sure mate, but we are talking completely different styles of hunting i`d have thought 12 FT/LBS V 40 - 50 FT/LBS -12 ft/lbs takes far more skill/ field craft in the hunting field, especially using a spring rifle/ shot placement. 40 - 50 FT/LB Air Cannons in pcp does not belong in the noble art of sub 12 ft/lb hunting, ( only my humble opinion )

I was once told " it is the right of any Englishman to own a shot gun" ! ( very old law, still enforced to the full) For that right to be refused it has to be a very, very good reason/refusal by the Police. As for FAC, i`ve no idea.

mark williams replied to pianoman's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Yes Simon, bought the old lady from Jimmy as he is setting his stall out to go FAC and shot gun. Took your old girl out tonight mate,as well, the HW97K .177, she`s really delivering to the table Simon She`s in the hunting section again tonight mate. My very best wishes mate, Mark. -
Well lads i`ve just ordered 5,000 JSB Exact Express, 4.52, 7.87 gr on Thursday night. £20 cheaper than Voymir ( who were out of stock) and £30 + cheaper than Blackpool robbing rifles. Ordered Thursday night, delivered Saturday morning and very well packed too Great company to deal with lads, i`ve used them a number of times now Atb Mark.

Took her out on a session tonight after the wood pigeons. Shot three woodies, side on, through the boiler room, to watch all three fly around 100yards and just fold up and fall from quite a height. I stopped Kaiser from his retrieves as we have no permission on the adjoining land. Anyway a good sized Grey was high up in the canopy, clueless to me being there, this really "is" where the Primos shooting sticks take there place. I built the shot of a rock steady Primos platform, the presentation was a very high, upward

DIANA MAUSER K98 OVERVIEW PICS.
mark williams replied to pianoman's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Well Simon, that`s one handsome looking rifle from those pictures. The bluing looks lovely and deep and nothing is more important than a damn good trigger to take a rifle seriously. No, joking aside, that rifle looks very nice indeed. Enjoy mate, we are all looking forward to your first hunting sessions with her , that`s for sure. Which scope is she carrying mate ? atb Mark -
Took the 40 yr old FWB Sport 127 out.
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in Airgun Hunting
That youth`s scope was moving throughout that review He had just replaced the sized piston seal, spring, breach seal and re-lubed . Here`s my two, the 124 and the 127 mk 1`s,- 1978 and 1979. The 124 (.177 top) is running at 11.3 ft/lbs The 127 (.22) is running at 11.24 ft/lbs Both are re-lubed with new seals and springs and no tuning. Both are incredibly accurate and hard hitting Here`s both rifles at work. FWB 127 (.22) Below, FWB 124 (.177) For me, one of the finest classics ever made. -
Nice shooting Jonjon, as per Careful with that stock " of mine". atb Mark.

Gave the old lady a walk over one of the permissions this pleasant afternoon, finished work for 12-30pm . No sticks, just walk abouts, took me right back to my youth. Loved it !

I don`t think i`ll ever buy another PCP.
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I agree with a lot said . In a long waited, static hunt, i find the pcp priceless, when needing the least of any noise or movement. Walking or decoying either type of rifle as they are equally accurate but the spring rifles never run out of air. As for range, i rarely shoot beyond 40 yards as i normally don`t need to, as i can get that close and a lot closer, if needed. Not blowing a trumpet but if you do your bit a second shot is rarely required and again with silenced rifles, "moderators are helpful if you miss, s -
At 30 yards plus is where the .22 trajectory starts to show, either caliber up to 30 yards easily . A nice HW 95 lexus comes to my mind in either caliber for what you have described Shaaark. atb Mark.

Took this Jay the other evening Chris and i want to mount some chosen feathers myself and attach to her gun bag. I was using my latest classic. A full length, HW 77 .177cal, Sand well Field Sports tuned, 1986. atb Mark.

mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Oh mate, that`s fine by me, she`s an absolutely fabulous rifle, so glad i listened to you over the Pro Sport, HW 97 and the old classic HW 77. Jimmy i`ve chucked in the 5p groups and i`m training myself solely on drawing pin heads these last 12 months. Here`s the T Rex last thing tonight at 38 yds on pin heads, first three were struck one after the other, two just missed and the sixth was struck, 4/6 hits on pin heads at 38 yds. I love working with the spring rifles, a true shooting challenge. -
A breathless night, wind wise, tonight lads, so i grabbed the chance to work on the shooting with my spring rifles again. I own just two pcp`s all others are either classic or modern spring rifles. I worked with just my HW 97K and my TX 200 HC MK3 both are .177 cal HW 97K with the Hawke Endurance L4 German reticle is just incredibly accurate. Carried the training over to the T Rex 200 HC MK3, again the accuracy available is incredible. For the newer lads, put loads of practice and training in before you attempt an

Nice shooting Chris. To shoot a Jay means your fieldcraft and marksmanship was spot on . Your local angling shop would most likely want the wing feathers as they are highly prized by the fly fishing lads. atb Mark.

I love the challenge and " none forgiveness" that a spring rifle brings to the shooting/ hunting experience. The slightest mistake when building your shot with a spring rifle, ( usually lack of concentration), results in a miss. PCP`s are " very forgiving", which for me, takes away a lot of enjoyment from that challenge. atb Mark.
