I have used carrot with some success, but I found kale, cabbage and lettuce leaves worked better

Rob , my best trap works by injecting them with a fast moving piece of lead ...next time your down I'll run you through the principles of how it works ... Yeah, I need one of them traps, get ya backside up here, you got a passport to get out of Sussex ain't you ? I walked down the field yesterday, saw one fox about 160 yards in the middle of the field just happy wandering along, then spotted on about 60 yards away in the hedge line, then sat and watched two munts taking the tops out the hedge we planted last autumn. Had a dead turkey on the lawn by the back door last night (hadn't got around

I made one, it's 6 foot long, and 2 foot x 2 foot, has a sliding drop down door and a spring loaded pin that releases the door and springs back out again to lock the door shut, not had feck all in it yet though, the first. 3 or four night the trap had been sprung, the door was down but nowt in it, hence I adapted the spring loaded locking mechanism to lock the door shut as it must have opened the door after closing, since then I ain't had nowt in it, probably spooked it the first few nights I guess Got another one half built, this one is not having a sliding door though, it will be a pivot

Hmmm. 18 3lb rabbits eating the same as a 1000lb+ horse? Either way., make up a story for them as they won't know the difference. They quite obviously don't eat the same, I never seen anyone going down the field with nuts, molasses, hay nets, chopped carrots and apples for the rabbits, (am sure some are batty enough to do it though) the comparison was about the amount of grass they eat.I have seen how much damage a few rabbits can do, so I would imagine 18 rabbits on an acre of grass, and one horse on an acre of grass, the rabbits are constantly grazing grass, the horse gets its food su

One of my horse permissions reckon 18 rabbits eat the same as a horse, I have no idea if that's true or not though. They moan like hell about horses going into a rabbit hole, as do a couple of cattle farmers I shoot for as well, a broken leg is costly for them.

I went out to my birds about an hour before they went in to have a look around, ten yards from the pen in the next field was a vixen working the hedge line, she stopped, pounced in the hedge, heard a squeal and came back out with quarter grown bunny, casual as you like she walked back off down the field carrying said rabbit, mixed feelings as it was close to my pen, and I been hit with foxes before so generally I want any in the area dead, but it was so close and it's something I never seen before. However, if I had a rifle in my hands I wouldn't have hesitated, one lucky fox, as I was going -
I heard a similar story a good few year back and thought what a load of tosh, now you got me wondering..........
-
Nice, patience pays off in the end, I went out to put my chooks in tonight, and ten yards the other side of the pen I watched a vixen working the hedge, she suddenly dived in, came out a few seconds later with quarter grown bunny and went off across the field, she has no idea how lucky she was as I very nearly went out with a rifle to pop a few rabbits after doing the chooks, but got sidetracked and left the gun at home !

I miss my pike fishing days, best was 36lb from grafham water on an open pike day, I used to be out every week, but it fell by the wayside with work, family and farming, keep itching to get back into it.

Surely bins are like scopes ? Not every pair are suited to our eyes ? My mate kept raving about his ones, when I looked through I thought they were shite and my £30 pair are better. I want a new pair, and have been told the Nikon monarch are a good set albeit budget priced, interested to know more about the monocular

Oh I had a bacon and egg sarnie to die for earlier, mate gave me some home bred thick sliced bacon he had cold smoked, along with one of my free range eggs, now that really hit the spot, just wish I was able to make the bread

spot on ,only downside with them ! nuts and bolts cheap enough though ,BARGAIN FOR SOMEONE HEREI imagine it will be pretty easy to take down but have not had a good look at what it would need. I know the glass is held in with wire clips as I was looking at replacing some of the panes I'd accidently driven the mower through.Still available Ha, hate to see you mowing the grass, one of them panes missing is 2 foot off the floor lol They are simple to do, wire clips hold the glass in place, and nuts and bolts for the frame, simples, to erect, get some new clips and a bag of nuts and bolts, hey

No, I done quite a few, just buy a new bag of nuts and bolts and your sorted.

Best of luck jok, I know how it feels mate, I lost a few bloody good birds to Charlie, built a trap, first four nights it had been sprung every nigh but had escaped, so I made a latch so when the door shuts it's latched shut, had feck all in it since ! Seen a fox in front of it, behind it, both sides of it, my lad even saw one on top of the trap, but do you think it will go in....... -
If you was closer I would have been into a trade of some sort with ya, best of luck.
-
Feels and esox mate, I was intending going after both.

Excellent read, and an even better method of fishing, full marks for this one.

I visited loch awe 3 years ago with the intention of a weeks fishing, morning after arriving had a call to say death in the family and drove home again ! Never even unpacked the rods, it's my intention to get back up and try again though.

Yeah too many drakes mate, it's puts the ducks off laying, one drake would be plenty for them

That's a cracking offer pal, and I would snap your hand off if it was not other end of the country, fair play to you

I got two, they are pretty ok, not had any problems with them as yet, but saying that I hardly beach fish anymore. Penn are one of my favourite makes, most of my boat reels are pen 535

That made me laugh, I could just picture you going in after the dog, bet you looked a right sight ! Although I nearly had to go in the river after my Dane x mastiff when she decided she could run across water after the swans, sunk like a stone, I thought she wasn't coming back up so I was just starting to strip off when she surfaced a bit sorry for herself. She hates water, always has done, won't even go out for a piss if it's raining, slowly, very slowly she is getting better, never had a problem with my labs though, it's more work trying to keep them out !
