    Agreed, I only ever pluck when warm, hate doing them cold, I am looking into waxing though

    Agreed, I have been checking humidity and my house is higher than average, (I knew that as we are dealing with all the damp problems slowly) so I add no water until day 18, it has really helped my hatch rate. (I do have a dehumidifier but don't think things are that bad just yet !) I had extra large chicks the first couple of weeks and they couldn't pip properly and died, now they are doing it all themselves. Ps, if you don't use the curfew I would love to buy it, the two I have are excellent.

    I been struggling the first few weeks this year, so.... After advice I got on here I dropped the humidity, I now put no water in the setter at all, I have bought a separate hatcher and when I transfer the eggs at day 18 into the hatcher I fill with water, my hygrometer is reading between 65-70% Last week I hatched 64 chicks from 64 fertile eggs, one died at two days old. The week before I hatched 49 chicks from 51 fertile eggs, none died. Prior to this I was adding water to the incubator and was lucky if half the chicks hatched/survived, I think that says it all, add no water f

    Reckon I was probably 6 or 7, was in lower school anyhow, gramps kept ferrets all his life, and so did dad, gramps got old and I'll and stopped keeping them, used to hear the stories of him and dad ferreting, long netting, and more often than not poaching, kept asking for them, then whilst out at a friends his neighbour said he was giving up ferreting and was getting rid, so I pleaded and parents gave in, cam home with a polecat Jill, best £2.50 I ever did spend, old man got his interest re-kindled and I have been keeping them ever since, this is my second year not having any, but also my last

    My girl done hers abou 6 years back now, she was rested for nearly 3 months with no exercise other than in the garden for toilet duties, another 4 months of minimal excercise, slowly building it up, now she is right as rain, unless she really over does it then she can be lame the next day, otherwise you wouldn't know she couldn't walk over a month ! I keep a few rimadyl handy now just in case, but can't even remember last time she needed one.

    I need to get a call bird for a Larsen trap, my place is over run with magpies and I need to thin them out some, any suggestions best way to go about it ?

    Very kind offer that pal, I have an excellent bass spot myself, but it only fishes in certain conditions and they are few and far between, but when it does fish............worth the wait. I may give you a shout when I fancy a change of scenery.

    I let my meat birds run free range with the chickens, the older they get, the less they wander from home.

    If you can find them in the right size, I would say bf Goodrich, but they don't do the size I need, so I am going with coopers
