  1. I have the same breed pal had the very same problem. Fast enough just not picking up on lamp. Day time rabbits when ferreting and mooching catching for fun. Only just got him catching on the lamp in march embarrassing really compared to some dogs at that age. Had some help from gaffer (top bloke) off hear took me out and gave me some pointers on were I was going wrong. Dog acted up when out with his dog but one on one he is doing very well at the minute, recall, not hunting up but retrieving still needs work. It took him time to adjust to the lamp, but he missed 1st half of season thr
  2. Seen plenty of cars steamed up an rocking ha ha once seen a nutter dancing in a lane that was abit weird but turns out there was a mental health home near by. Also seen a good Fox dog start playing with a load of Fox cubs one night we was gob smacked. But was also enjoyable to see
  3. I seen a lurcher x boxer on preloved the other day for 250 pound, a lot of money for a mongrel. The dog worlds gone mad
  4. Having had 1 of both I found training the bitch easier than the dog. I found that the bitch was more loyal and willing to please. The dog I have got is a different story, he trains well but will go to anybody and has the occasional selective deafness. But took him out the other night and he did everything asked perfect. But I can't make a full judgement due to only ever having 2 lurchers and they were 2 different types of lurcher so that could have something to do with it aswell. As for dogs being nervy it's either down to dogs parents or owner training methods. Advice wise just do
  5. Agree Neil we got to take the fight to them. Atb
  6. Neil you are probably correct on saying nothing as I don't vote, I have got a opinion but it doesn't matter which political party is in government as people's opinion count for nothing, the act was still brought in even though the majority voted to keep hunting than against.
  7. The government aren't bothered about us hunting men or the nation, they all piss in the same pot and are out for themselves. That's why I don't vote. Keep fighting the ban you never know atb
  8. Perspex will cook your kits seen it happen to 2 ginny pigs in a clear indoor cage put outside weather wasn't that hot either. Same effect as leaving dogs in cars. Always use mesh on hutches. Atb
  9. All depends on the land you run, I think collie greyhound better for rabbits but the saluki mix better for hare. It's a case of horses for courses. Different breeds all excell at different game
  10. Give her chance still abit early yet pal.
  11. Stopped for now due to digging to young uns still out lamping thou.
  12. Theres one on you tube. Not sure how to put link up seems to do ok on bankings but think I'd rather use a lurcher made for the job. Staffs a bit hard mouthed
  13. My grandad used to work one many moons ago 1950's used to work her to badger and fox. Smooth type throu not wired hired
  14. Just let it run its course pal , they should be ok just check them regular and make sure they got fluids and warmth.
  15. Like I say pal ridgebacks were bred for baying lions I can't see were that would benifit a lurcher.
  16. Like I say pal ridgebacks were bred for baying lions I can't see were that would benifit a lurcher.
  17. Doesn't the bull add that through? I always thought ridgebacks were baying dogs like great Danes, etc.
  18. What does the ridgebsck offer to the working abilities? Not having a go just wondered as all ways had a soft spot for ridgebacks great dogs
  19. Gaffer just mated. 2 good dogs should produce cracking pups suitable for all work . But there is bull in the breeding
  20. For me the lurcher game is a working man's game so working man's prices. I think the lurchers bred should always be passed around friends in the hunting game and not just any old Tom dick or harry. A working man's price should be paid to cover the rearing costs.
  21. RIP ern, you put some rabbits away will miss the photos. Always the good uns to go 1st. Keep ya chin up mate sorry for your loss
  22. I see what your saying but don't put it on videos for all the bunny huggers to see that's how we get a bad name
  23. Excellent video but I think you should have showed the rabbit a bit more respect and ended it as quickly as possible. Good hunting though
