  1. i was hunting over 30 years ago i wish i had taken a lot more pictures .just to look back on seen some good dogs in action time dims the memory in my case anyway .atb. The crux of that statement Darbo, is that you would like them to refresh your own memories, little else. Nostalgia if thats the right word. Very much the same as me Darbo, in that i wish i'd have taken more photos years ago. Though i did have a whole lot more but destroyed them just after the ban. Not that i would have ever put them up on here or any internet site but they were some great memories of good old dogs and damn g
  2. The lad who's holding it is on FB, he posted on it earlier, its a decent sized average fox BUT he's holding it away from his body toward the camera. He posted another with it close to him and its nowt that special. He put it up on a shooting page as a bit of a joke, as the photo looks so impressive but it wss forwarded on and has gone viral, he asked for it to be removed but....
  3. Remember that one too but I thought it was American, didn't the kid use it as some sort of rough shooting dog? All I know about the breed is reading a quote from Plummer, which said it was impossible to train Chow chow's or Basenji's..... But then I grew up and knew 'ol DBP was not a man to be trusted....
  4. And they say 'no one ever sells a good dog'.... Well I read that as genuine. I hope she finds the right home.....
  5. If you really need to put up pictures that may be incriminating on the internet then feck off to Facebook, where you can put up what you like. Simples....
  6. What's in that bosun ,looks a cracker I love a houndy looking dog, looks like a mini coon houndsure is roybo, credit to the breeder I say.lol.she's looking well bosun atb mudOoohhhh! is it one you bred mate we'll credit to both of you then lollol,ye I bred them roybo,am happy bosun took her on as I couldn't of asked for a better home for the bitch mate atb mudI take no credit for that bitch, she was in fine fettle when she came here. Just what I was after. She's settling down nice, learning to work closer now its just her and the lurcher and becoming more responsive to my commands. I dont need
  7. Fantastic offer Keith and if it was needed i'd help in a flash. Sad to read this tonight...
  8. Yes, now man-up ye big girls blouse... Reading that i nearly spilled me Babysham..!!
  9. This is the first year there'll be just the three of us for dinner. My Mrs lost her mum this year, my Mum is going to my brothers and everyone else (brothers, friends and neighbours) are now doing their own thing. Used to be turkey, goose and beef, pork or ham but this year just a turkey crown. I'm not the biggest turkey fan but they like it and thats ok. Boxing day is round at her aunts, 25 for dinner so far!
  10. Loads of dogs worth a punt in online classifieds like Preloved, Pets For.. and Dragon Driving to name but a few. Plenty of folks part with decent enough dogs, because of circumstances or lack of heart/interest, there's loads on them sites. Search through, you'll find sommat i'm sure.
  11. A lifesaving operation clipped his flightfeathers but 'every cloud' an all that...
  12. Whats he being fed on? What is his bedding? Is his bedding dry?
  13. I'd agree with Blackmaggie and have a scan through the online classifieds (preloved etc) before you make your mind up.
  14. I understand where Timmyk is comjng from, these days almost everyone is playing down what they own, lads talk about their own yards and its a no go private thing, which is fair enough, i get that but unless folks try to see what can produce to what, that 'could' do more harm than good. Out crossing and trying is what the gamedog boys have always done, same with coursing dogs and both give mention to dogs at the top of their game past and present, which working terriermen now dont do... I honestly dont know the answer but could that be detrimental to the future..??
  15. I dont play my old vinyl any more but i'll never part with it.
  16. Is there such a thing as a starter dog... I agree though, a lurcher pup with a shit load of Bedlington would/should be the very ticket. Though i wouldn't have one with only Whippet in it, you'd get more from a Beddy greyhound, or beddy whippet/greyhound. You'd want a dog of average size to be more versitile in my opinion. And as been said, look to something lurcher to lurcher bred rather than a first cross. Just remember, whatever you choose its gonna be a million miles away from your usual dogs. Hope you find what you seek.
  17. Poor old bugger but he lost it doing what he loves. Its gonna be a bit tough on him, at his age learning to adjust using one eye but he will. Eye operations always look bad but usually heal well, i know, my old dog lost his eye. Damn shame you never got nothing out of him, as the song goes ' dunno what you got until its gone and you find out a little too late'....
  18. Shite news Ken but try to stay positive. I'm sure you'll do everything you can to speed her recovery. And although her daughter aint ready to step into her shoes, it'll give you a window to put more quality time into her. Best of luck.
