    BBC 1

Worth going on the BBC website and leaving some positive comments. ?
  2. Wishing you and yours all the very best with it mate.
  3. Looks fine to me also CM. I'd keep on keeping on with what she's on. Some dogs are just lean, raw boned types, got one here the same, though mine eats like a horse and leaves his bowl spinning! So many variables that can have him going from a show stopper to a rescue case, harder graft, not enough graft, longer runs, colder weather (when out), knocks and cuts, diet changes, wormers and medicin etc etc... And over the years i've tried to combat his weight/condition through diet alone but come to realise all those different things are just the norm and these days i keep to a good diet
  4. Two different line bred half crosses there Ray, same family though. The pup in 88 and the pic with the hares was a saluki/lurcher bred dog called Jake.
  5. Old 'one eye' in the bottom pic, just before we called it quits... Then Jake back in 1988 and then all growed up. Finally Buck, best i've owned...
  6. It was a tough old day yesterday, that heat made it hard for everyone, especially the dogs but as usual a great chance to meet old friends and new. Dispite the heat classes were well attended and the bushing dog show is going from strength to strength. Always good to have Mr Strong Stuff alongside us. Aaron's always good company and a good sport, especially as i annouced he was doing a half price sale (which he obviously wasn't..!!) And for his generous donation to our raffle and lastly putting up with my mithering to draw the raffle tickets... Cheers A ? My highlight was seeing
  7. In my life i've never heard of a working welsh terrier...
  8. That was a great, gripping read and so glad she's pulled through... (Nice to read that a vet did you proud too!)
  9. Shame that Ken, hope your luck improves mate.
  10. No different than most other lurcher pups. And like any other lurcher type, a good bull cross can be biddable and well trained...
  11. The Merseyside Working Terrier & Lurcher Club will be running the lurcher & working terrier show at Peover Hall Sunday 5th August. Classes for working terriers, lurchers, whippets and bushing dogs (crossbreds) Judging starts 1pm
  12. My choices are a real game bred bull dog. Then theres half bred bull greyhounds and finally the Catahoulla Lepard Dog, which i've never seen in the flesh but i'm hoping to real soon...

    Action man

Spot on. Had Action Man as a kid and obviously never seen that, it was just a toy BUT my Dad did and hated the fact that his sons 'played with dolls'. He used to buy us boxes of soldiers as a replacement and though he was in the forces (Kings) himself and loved it, Action Man put him right off wanting any of his sons to follow in his footsteps.... That advert makes you realise just how camp Action Man really is...
  14. Benidorm by a mile.... As Mackem said, cheap as feck, loads of fun and tripple 'Madge mobiles' to get you all around. The nightlife is bouncing for all ages and you can get up to the old town for some genuine Spanish culture.
  15. Gnipper, the stuff i owned was out of some of the first bull bloods to hit theses shores. The line threw average 26" racy dogs and 24" bitches. I' ve seen much bigger animals now BUT what they are doing i dont know. And in my limited expierience, some of those other early lines also threw good sized animals. Whats about with other bull bloods now, i have no idea about...
  16. 62 with a half cross bull bitch... Same bitch cought 30 on two consecutive nights. I quit, not the bitch! And they say they aint got wind... ?
  17. The best of em could run and catch everything these fair isles have to offer. They can be trained to do anything any other cross can do and be a pleasure to own too. Sadly, what once was, is hardly any more... And if you have to ask, you'll never know....
  18. Loads of threads on the subject. Do a search and your homework... ?
  19. Never bought much into the tale when i read about em 40 years ago and i've heard feck all since. An the dog in that picture looks like a young scrawney Lakie.
  20. Can't see over hedges.... ?
  21. Yup, its always a sad sight for me, a majestic running dog being walked by some daft doo gooder, wearing a fecking harness and a muzzel (because its a hunting dog!) and the poor cnut is being walked down country lanes (because its a hunting dog!!) Without ever getting the chance to 'go'..... And do you know who's fault that is... Ours!! For breeding far too much shite... Sickens me....
  22. Them road bikes are a bit shit over tracks and fields though.... ?
  23. It all depends what your gonna do with it. I love lamping on mine (so does the dog!) Propper poaching, stealth mode and you can get so much closer to easy spooked gear. This year i'm going for a new(er) bike and as i'm in my 50's, ride comfort will play a major part..!
