  1. Lee, I think Broon's right though, up to a point for most and I also know there are many that train to a very high standard and long may that remain but the modern Lurcher's game has come a long way since the first half of the last century. If I am gonna breed my ultimate lurcher I know one thing for sure, it wouldn't come direct out of a greyhound...
  2. I know your gutted mate, your voice said it all on the phone yesterday... I know how you feel, been there too many times myself... Chin up, you had some great years and you'll always have great memory's. Onward and upward...
  3. 25 quid... I still live in the world of Exchange & Mart...
  4. Dan, I'd go with Dan ( ), just breed the feckin things... Test the arse off 'em an be honest about 'em... It's the only way you'll ever know...
  5. BF, the thing is, you should WANT your bitch to fetch rabbits back alive, thats the mark of a good lurcher...!! Remember, with edible quarry a lurcher is a 'catcher', not a 'dispatcher', thats YOUR job...! Personally, you should encourage her to do so and take them off her in a calm and praising manner. She's young and, by the sounds of it, level headed, she knows from that first pick up that they'll offer her no problems and return 'em to you, unharmed. Now.. It'll be a different story when she tackles sommat a bit bigger that will bite back... And whether she kills her bunnys no
  6. Rainbow... was it Ronnie James Dio or Graham Bonnett singing then... Good tale, never liked the rats... Geldolf ( pre- Band-Aid was a twat...!)
  7. Quality mate, I remember being a young kid around 78/79...... Monkey boots, docs, tonic trousers and always Madness playing. Every young lad should see " take it or leave it" Was chuffed to f**k when they did the Madstock come back gig, good line up that night as well with Ian Dury, Labbe sifri (spel?).......except that dick Morrisey, 40000 beer bottle all flying through the sky at once when he came on. Managed to get ourselves in the video of that gig. Dillon has spent a bit of time on the piss with them and says they are all cracking lads That first gig, sagged school an went t
  8. Feck everything else off and pm Macky off here, he's just brought one out... 'THE' best i've used..price is right too.
  9. First seen 'em in the Royal Court when at school. Seen 'em most other tours since. The Echo last week. The one date me an me mates from school never miss, a Madness gig, seven 45 year olds trying to re-live a miss spent youth... My all time fav nostalgic band, (well the fecking Jam won't be re-forming anytime soon..!!) Quality, always value for money live...
  10. Sounds delicious Joe , you can't go wrong with sommat like that in the slow cooker, though I prefer curried hare... Shot ones of course!
  11. Bill, if that stunning image has been banned because of what it portrays, then feck 'em, whatever apology you get because that would say to me that they ain't got a clue of what wildlife i really is...! It'd be their loss...
  12. Steve, if you give that dog of yours a damn good go i'll bet it'd get on the game, nowt wrong with getting sommat else but make sure what you got has been given every chance.
  13. I've hunted the dunes for over 30 years, just get yourself a lurcher to lurcher bred animal of average height (22" to 25") and out of sound working parents, you'll have lot of fun with a dog of that type. Edited to add... You'll be surprised what type of dog can do well on that type of ground, it's different running but brought on to it well, some big 'ol powerhouses of mutts can be very impressive...
  14. Si, im having a large shed delievered in the morning at your adress Just send it round the back for me Cheers TUFFTY Will do, next to the BBQ ok? You'll have to move the BBQ Si, thats where he's putting the hot tub..!
  15. An old boy I once worked with bred Deerhound crosses back in the day, when they where 'the' dogs to knock over hares. He always said that the best of 'em came out of Deerhound dams to greyhound sires. He always said that finding good bitches was much harder than finding good dogs and good bitches should be cherished and bred from. It's something thats always stuck with me and I've always admired a good bitch. Right now, I know I could not use all the digits of one hand to say how many good bitches I personally know of but I could at least double that with dogs. I really can't answer the ques
  16. Good goin Sirius... Had a good few of those catches through netting, ain't too bad with rabbits though pre-ban, foxes were a bit more tricky.

  19. I kept ferrets from age 12 to 33 and like you Liam, I couldn't do them justice anymore BUT for me now, 12 years later, as others have said, they'll pull you back and i'm soon to reacquaint me self with the little critters...
  20. When all's said an done RD, your dead right.. Though, for the cost of 'em, they could be better...
