  4. This is a bargain for anyone this jacket fits, unfortunately for me i'll have to keep trolling on ebay for a second hand XL..!!
  5. Loafer is dead right because using the methods described will get you in a lot of hot water!! The simple answer is that you have yourself a terrier that already chases rabbits, so chasing rats will be no different to it. Have a think where you know local, that might have a few rats on, you may be surprised, because although we think countryside, in local towns an city's rats abound. (My dad used to nab one most nights on his evening walk past his local McDonald's with my ancient terrier). I've yet to see any terrier not react to the sight of a fleeting rodent, and if all goes well and it
  6. Whats up with the Chop Brigg..??
  7. pd3 put a post up on kennel design that was the best i've ever seen, should of been pinned. Find that Fay, i' know I'll bee using some of those ideas on anything I do again.
  8. Yer, and if you can't hear anything after all that tradition, turn the box on and locate your worker safely!
  9. For all that's been said on here it's this simple... The CMW is a business and built up its huge output on the backs of the lurcher & terrier folk who bought it. Back then it was our mag. Through its huge sales, it won over other field sports enthusiasts, of which it was always trying to do, though always loosing out to the tried and trusted publications but the shooters and some hunting folk now tune in, buying it as an extra to their usual. They now bite the hand that fed 'em for all these years!! The bottom line is, hit 'em where it hurts... Stop buying it and tell others the same...!
  10. Love these whippet an fox thred's... Pre-ban, I would have ran it till it made contact... I'd have known then..
  11. Yer but this ones good...!!
  12. I've had a few 'do's' with other members on here about the Countrymans. The rag is now so out of touch with hunting it is quite unbelivable. From what once was 'our' mag... How hath the mighty fallen..! I've in total agreement with Lev (top avatar! ), in his last line and if everyone 'wised' up to this it would certainly have to change or wrap up... Simples...!!

  14. Forgot to add... Operation Petticoat... Classic!!
  15. Funny though with free ads, i've had a lurcher up for about two weeks for free, the dog is very good on edible gear but it seems I can't give it away to someone who would want it and to be fair, the dogs too decent to PTS. I've just altered the post to 'for sale' an put the dog up for a ton, if its the right bloke, I ain't gonna charge but i'd sooner PTS than give it to the wrong 'un. Be interesting to see if it makes a difference, from free to for sale..
  16. I don't think anyone else said it but for me that made 'uncomfortable' viewing, I don't know the circumstances but my first gut reaction was that the dog was simply being protective BUT as has been said, we really don't know. I'd also agree with the others in that it was a totally reckless shot, there were kids there, that bullet could have gone anywhere. What pisses me right off, looking at that is that 'if' those cops were trying to help the person with the apparent seizure, why the feck didn't one get over to him and if they weren't then why the feck didn't someone finish the dog off or ge
  17. Again, same as the first Yard Dog topic, I really don't see the need of owning 'another' dog if it wouldn't be used for sommat else. If your a, for instance, bull breed fan and you wanted to keep one anyway and if it guarded, then great, two birds with one stone, like I said, same with any other breed BUT don't FFS go out an buy yourself a guard breed just because you now have Lurchers and Terriers in your yard..!! Or at least before you know what your dogs can do, you'd be surprised at how good a big 'ol Cur can be..!! Now these two ain't in the same league as J's dog there on film but i
  18. That thing looks one ugly fecker! Though i'd agree with your last post Charts, would simply adding ink prevent this...? If it does, crack on... One thing I find strange is its name, especially in its ear, surely his (the vets) name or sommat would be better, did he go for the Swallows or Tribal on the next sitting...
  19. Not all and dependent on how a mutt has been brought up and treated, many would see it as a sign to make a fresh change on top dog and help out an aggressor.
  20. I'm the same as littlefish, had mine done about 9 years back, best money I've ever spent!! Funnily enough, what convinced me to go for it was a 'warm' nights lamping in a speck I thought safe, which wasn't, and having had to pick up my heels for a mile or so, I was trying to make my way slowly to the motor, could I see for steam, could I feck, I was in a position where I could not move until i'd cooled off... Just couldn't see for misting glasses, yet couldn't see without 'em (my next prescription was Labrador)!! Though it's the best thing i've done, natural deterioration will eventually ki
