  1. In theory the latter should be a bit faster and have a bit more wind and the former, a bit more upstairs but it's all relative... I dont think either is 'better', its much more the case of both what you want it for and which you think you would work better with.
  2. Renapur is decent enough stuff, i've been using it years.
  3. Sad state of affairs really both sad for the pups and the poor feckers that buy em with the best intentions... But sadly do all those buyers have the best intentions, i'll bet not and 1/2 of those pups probably wont see their first birthday, let alone a fullfilling working life? Nowt wrong with buying in from the classifieds because there are some great people and dogs out there but Jiggy, your mate and anyone else who is the market, i'd always say, use the size of this site to find out more. There's almost always some fecker on here that knows something about anything... Stand as friends an
  4. Sorry Degsy, missed this earlier. In this evening or tomorrow morning till about 10.
  5. Good photo's WM. Was the Spider a black dog owned by a lad called Wayne S. at one point in the early 80's? Very heavily marked, if its the same, Mark R's dogs have at least one line to it.
  6. Brilliant photo Cocker, so much charicter there. Bet he'd lived a life less ordinary.
  7. Harcombe's World of The Working Terrier. Darcy's books are good. And Plummers Fell Terrier.
  8. Only seen one or two over the years and i saw them as outcrosses, either to a bull terrier or mutt. And all of them were a little bigger and cobbier to prove this. What i class as a fell terrier or border/lakie was never brindle. Though in Plummers Fell Terrier, Ralph Hodgeson is pictured with a brindle fell type.
  9. Free to anyone sensible, basic wooden catty, about 400+ bearings (was bought as a 500 bag but used a few and a couple of meters of Thereband gold. Collection only! Edited to add; May swap for a 100% earth dog, or 3/3 coursing dog. Trial required with either...
  10. One from the early 90's. The lamp used was the old Optronics Blue eye's and the wider glow for the photo was one of those cheap rectangle car type lamps that you could buy cheap from halfords etc.

  12. Whatever the reason he was there, whatever the dogs did to him, whatever happened to the dogs after. Dogs dealing with quarry, human or animal... Nothing is more emotive and damming than putting it on film!
  13. The problem with all guard breeds is the same problem as all game bred dogs and lurchers and working terriers... 7/8ths of the people that own em are complete fecking idiots...
  14. I'd be interested in that litter if there are any available?
  15. Nothing much will change except the rise in pet lurchers, as folk breed the arse out of any old lurcher these days. Pye, Golly, Punch and Reece bred dogs will still be getting a name. As will Razor, Merlin & Eve, Bulldozer, Scouser and the like. And don't forget them Minshaw dogs and Tumblers, bloody loads of em there'll be... Yep, Sally Hancock will still be sellin her dogs, probably more, as the pet market luchers go nuts. She'll more than likely have a few competitors in that game. And those boys forever looking over their shoulder whilst hopping a few fences and keeping t
  16. Hate the flamin things and the palava that goes with em. My Mrs and other women, tell me that Easter Egg chocloate is nicer than the same chocolate in any other form... Bollocks!
  17. The old Wigan WT&L club was formed in the early 1970's. Disbanded in the early 90's under the name 'Northern' WT&LC, it had a brief resurgence in the early 00's. Some may remember those early shows at the Cricket Club or St Patricks RFC, amongst other venues, that brought the best from around the country to a little corner of Lanc's. Alongside the best of working terriers and lurchers, the club (and the town!) was a Mecca for bull breeds and there were more shown than terriers an lurchers! The later club had some cracking indoor terrier shows in the huge Norley pub in Wigan? Based on
