  1. Good stuff Adrian, looks like a good worthwhile job you've done there.
  2. Mostly in dead or stressed trees, but not always.
  3. Great guns, I wouldn't want to part with mine. Enjoy!
  4. Usually caused by fungus decaying the wood. Nice piece fella.
  5. Great crested grebe next to its nest with eggs, and a couple of swans eggs on the bank, a bit odd?
  6. I didn't know they were banned, but I remember that they carried energy a lot further than standard waisted pellets. A lot further..
  7. All great finds fellas. I haven't found a warblers or song thrushes nest in ages. Any pics of the thrushes nest jjm?
  8. I was shooting rabbits, rats, squirrels etc with my old Webley .177 and was surprised to find that it had only been running at just over 8ft lbs. did the job though.
  9. Nice write up and pics, thanks for sharing.
  10. That's a good find billy, I haven't found a lapwings nest in over 30 years. Thanks for sharing.
  11. I had one last year. Bullet travelled about 1/2 inch up the barrel, I poked it back out with a cleaning rod. A couple of days later I had a hang fire from the same box of ammo. Hornady red tips believe it or not? Not had any other problems yet with hmr ammo. I understand that the Winchester HV varmint are supposed to be to a better standard but I haven't tried any yet. Got some of the Winchester supremes to use up first, then I'll give them a go.
  12. Shorter shotguns can be held as section 5 along with certain handguns for humane dispatch.
  13. Dual purpose tool, foxes in the winter and banks in the summer Lol.....
  14. I've got the 400 model and had no problems, it's good enough for what I need it for. No complaints from me.
  15. Couple of pics of a woodpigeons nest in my garden. I was surprised to find it empty as I've seen one of the birds on the nest and both are still hanging around the tree.
  16. I'd make sure it's in bits just to be on the safe side. Take it to bits and put it in the loft in bits, lol... I agree with what you say, a .177 strut will almost certainly take a .22 or .25 well over 12ft lbs.
  17. I've been watching blackbirds building this nest in my garden, now on eggs. It's in ivy, I took a photo from below and then got the step ladders out to have a look inside.
  18. I've tried lots of different .22 rimfire ammo and found the accuracy of some to be so poor that all they're fit for is plinking them off to get rid of them, but sometimes that's the only way to find out if they're any good in you're rifle. Good job they're relatively cheap.
