  1. Should be, i use it for cleaning things. It will need to be cleaned off afterwards. If you leave any in the cylinder it'll diesel like hell.
  2. Great stuff Archie, good time you had there. Did old Ed get to use the beretta or the hatstand? Lol"..
  3. Me too Matt, I've hit them hard with subsonic hp's and knocked them over with a loud smack, only for them to fly off in a cloud of feathers.
  4. Cheers bud It's a 125 pro had a 250 before so was worried might be under power but how wrong I was use it right will climb brick walls and wheelies on command really like the lightweight of it too Between myself and a few friends, we came to the conclusion that with modern trials bikes in 2 stroke, 200cc takes some beating because if there was anything that the bigger engined bikes could do that the 200 couldn't, we couldn't find it. Also they're a bit lighter and more forgiving and don't try to pull your arms off sometimes and giving you a battering. The bigger engines just wear you out m
  5. I polished the inside of the cylinder and the piston on mine. How much did the barrel job cost Bernie? I might get mine cut down and screw cut.
  6. Totally agree andy, that's exactly what I've found. Just shows that it's worth the effort to do some pattern testing with different chokes and shot sizes.
  7. Apple smart watch needs to work in conjunction with I phone 5 or 6. You'll need the phone as well as the watch. Don't know about any of the other smart watches though but it's worth considering before you buy one.
  8. I use half choke in my semi autos in 12 & 20 bore, never change them nowadays. My sxs is fixed half and full, might be a bit tight but it works and I don't even think about it. I cut the choke off my fourten and it throws a better pattern now than it did before at around twenty to twenty five yards that I use it at.
  9. Nice fella, I had a K-Roo 363, the engine was more like an enduro than trials though. Got a Beta rev3 still in the garage.
  10. My travels took me to Grantham yesterday and I came across a gun shop on West Gate. It was closed, and looking through the windows it looks like it's contents were strewn across the floor, stuff everywhere. The adjoining fishing tackle shop was the same. Does anybody know if this shop is still operating? Seems odd...
  11. Nice to see those old air guns ratbuster. Thanks for sharing.
  12. The lead balls are two different weights @ 15 & 16 grain 5.5mm & 5.6mm. I'll give the 5.6's a try in the hw99 next to see if there's any descernable difference.
  13. Tried a few this morning in the hw99. H&N lead ball weighed in at an average of 15.1 grains and 465 fps @ only 7.25 ft lbs energy. Accuracy was better than I expected at just over an inch at 28 yards. RWS Super-H-Point weighed 14.7 grains and an average velocity of 600.1 fps gave me 11.76 ft lbs energy. Accuracy with these was less than an inch. The champions I tried were hitting the same mark some of the shots. The first two pictures were H&N lead ball top and RWS super-h-point below at just over 30 yards.
  14. In the meantime, you can fit a set back trigger. I fitted a rowan extra set back trigger and it feels much better to me. I'm sure your wife would never notice. But you will...
  15. Thinking back, even as a very small boy drooling over the airguns in the pages of mums catalogue, I always had an interest, if not a fascination with guns and shooting. Back then, shotguns and even rimfire rifles were for sale in the catalogue. I had a toy gun that fired plastic bullets from a spring loaded cartridge and I'd set up toy soldiers to shoot at across the living room. I had a dabble with making blow pipes and discovered that the longer the pipe, the more speed the projectile would achieve. This was long before I gained any knowledge of pneumatic air guns. First I had to do my time
  16. All you need now is a .20 model and then you'll be even more undecided, lol....
  17. Nice piece Andy. I got a piston sleeve for the HW off 'tInternet auction site, you know the one, about three quid.
  18. A lightweight scope is a good choice, I put my little Simmons 1.5-5x20 wtc on the 99 when I first got the rifle. I've since had a couple of others on it, but I've gone back to the little Simmons. It suits the little 99s just right and the whole set up is nice and light and well balanced. I can't seem to put the thing down, it's so much better than it ought to be. I'm even considering a custom stock for it.
  19. Dug some more ammo out of the archives. The good old Champions. These weighed in at a remarkably consistent 12.7 grains and man, did the 99 like these stumpy little slugs. At 650 fps and 11.92 ft lbs energy they're a bit close for comfort and typically, accuracy was pellet on pellet at the 23 yards I tested them at. I'll try them further out when I get time.
  20. Well, I've never used a hatsan semi-auto but a friend had one and he called it Bob Marley because it never stopped jamming.
