  1. My 99s in .22 is running 11.4-11.8 depending on pellets used. It's just polished inside with a piston sleeve and tin bum kit. Lovely to shoot now. Be careful with silicone oil, don't use on metal to metal moving parts.
  2. Believe it or not, as far as weight consistency is concerned, I've found marksman pellets hardly deviate at all.
  3. The ace is much better made than the innova, but also heavier. I had sharps back in the eighties and I reckon the victory is the best of the pump ups, if you can find one.
  4. I've got a cz452 in .17 and I can't fault it.
  5. I've just got an old Simmons wtc 3.5-10x50 on my 1417. Works ok for me but no Mil dots, it doesn't shift zero and I know where to aim using the duplex ret anyway.
  6. Agreed, I've got brown leghorns and they lay nearly everyday.
  7. I've got brown leghorn bantams and light Sussex bantams, also just got some cream legbars hens.
  8. The rapids are still holding their money. A good thing about them is, compared to the more modern pcp's, they're easily owner serviceable. Especially the pre anti tamper ones. They just come apart with ease using a basic tool kit. A few o rings and a couple of springs, the rest of them is so well engineered it'll probably last you out. Just beware of butchery from previous owners as so many have been messed about with by "home tuners".
  9. Good shooting billy, nice bag of vermin there.
  10. Nissan terrano, only had one problem, a broken wire under the dash. Otherwise relentless.
  11. Yep, not much room left to move around for those two.
  12. A quick look at the blackbirds again, and it wasn't long before I was being watched.
  13. Mine on the left is .20 and my pals is .22 Great guns Nice, I'm a fan of the .20 myself.
  14. Well done blatter, what calibre are the hw's ?
  15. I don't use many hv .22's these days but I like to carry a few, although I don't have any at the moment. The last ones were Winchester lasers which were ok in my anschutz. I'm always up for trying a box of .22's that I haven't tried before, they're not going to break the bank, so if they turn out to be poor I'll just plink them off, or on the other hand, they might be good. Either way, not much to lose in trying different .22 ammo.
  16. Never tried the federals, but I've used Yellowjackets before and as far as Remington .22's go they were probably about the best. They weren't as accurate as velocitors for me. The most accurate high velocity .22's I've used were the eleys, but they don't do them any more to my knowledge, don't know why. Rws high velocity should be worth a try if you can source any. I've been trying to get some myself but no luck at the moment. I'd be interested to know how you get on with the federals though if you decide to try them.
  17. Well, the original Rapids were well engineered, if a bit agricultural by today's standards. I wouldn't swap mine for a more modern piece though, because it's easily owner serviceable and there's so little to go wrong. They should last forever really. Having said that, they aren't the sleekest of rifles and a lot of modern ones are probably better handling and lighter.
  18. I've still got it in the freezer if anybody wants it. Also got some more jay wings knocking about the sheds I think, that I've accumulated.
  19. That's a bargain, they're about £60 each new.
