  1. That's looking more like sk's performance. That's where you see the difference from other not so accurate brands. I've tested lots of different .22's at 100 yards and not many of the hollowpoint rimfire bullets perform that well. It's interesting to compare them with quality target ammo like eley match or tenex etc.
  2. Lovely handy little rifle fella. I've got an early HE sirocco carbine, the barrel is three inches longer than the fenman but it's still a handy little rifle and lovely build quality. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Looks like you got a bargain.
  3. Never had a problem with sk subs, I've always found them very consistent and accurate. I hope they remain good as they're one of my favourite .22 rounds and as accurate as the eley subs in my Anschutz. I was impressed with winchester's 42max subsonic hp's that I recently bought. I just bought two boxes to try them. Had a bit of time on a few targets, and they were grouping about 3/4 inch at sixty yards.
  4. I think the 12 ft lbs limit came in with the 1968 firearms act. It's very unlikely that your dads airsporter was above that power anyway, they usually ran at around 9-10 ft lbs in .22. Only a few American pump up air rifles were much above 12 ft lbs back then.
  5. Nice looking kettle flipper, I've got a few T's and GT's but all are well blessed in patina or in bits, lol.....done tens of thousands of miles on GT250's and T500 back in their days. Full of character and easy to mend or kick straight, I still like 'em today as much as i ever did. Recently though, I've been lusting after a speed triple.
  6. Great tools, I fill to 200 bar on my mk1 and to say it's not regged, the power curve is about as flat as a witches tit so im happy enough with it anyway.
  7. Well done Chris, good shooting, seems like you could do with an FAC air, or a rimfire for some of those rangy rabbits fella.
  8. Well done fella. As moxy says, just a light tap or two will bring the power down. It doesn't take much to make a difference in power so beware or you'll be down to six ft lbs before you know it, then, if you haven't got a pump to recharge it you're going to be miffed I reckon. I use the handle of a screwdriver to tap the punch as it's easier control the amount of pressure you're releasing.
  9. But wouldn't that contravene the Approval Order ... ie catching a species not approved by the legislation ... ? I don't know how the rabbit got into the tunnel as the holes each end of the box are less than 3 inches but when I found it the box was tipped up and the rabbit had been dragged away from where the trap was set.
  10. It was, and that's what happened. I don't set traps for rabbits, this one got unlucky.
  11. Anybody tried these or know if they're any good. Or does their cheapness answer the question?
  12. on reflection, probably not a good post, my apologies for any misunderstanding.
  13. .177 or .22, what about .20 or .25? It goes on forever this one.........
  14. Champion pellets were one of the main brands available to us when we were kids, along with marksman, beatall and bulldog at the local shops. Our local grocery shop used to sell Airgun pellets back then.
  15. The fireballs are, I think 1980's. The specials are earlier than that.
  16. Anybody remember these or still got any old champion pellets?
  17. Nice rifle dark, I had a bsf 55 venom with the same stock. I wish I still had it now. I've since read that they only did about twenty of them, knowing that just makes me feel worse for selling it.....
  18. dimorphics, satinettes and irish fancy the dimorphics and satinettes are for muling but il get one round for next years muling Hope you get good success russ, Atb with 'em.
  19. Well done fella, that looks like a good 'un to me. I've only got a couple of shop bought 'uns, black widow and a cheapo one with a plastic grip. Haven't made one since I was a little kid. Now I'm a big kid it might be time I had a go at making another? You've got me thinking now.....
  20. I had a bsa supersport in the early nineties, used to good effect on rabbits and squirrels. It seemed fairly well made and sweet shooting but maybe later ones weren't so good? All I can say is, for the price, I thought it was fairly good. Having said that, I've got an hw99s now and that's a lovely little sweet shooting rifle that's well engineered. I'm well happy with it and would recommend one.
