  1. That's what I thought, I'll have another peep next week.
  2. Lots of jays about round my way as always. Lovely looking birds, I know, but I've got to keep knocking a few off as we've got pheasant and partridge chicks about. This one came streaking in at a fair old speed, through the dappled light of the birch trees I took a bead on it, pushed just past and loosed a shot off, shortly followed with a thump of the jay hitting the ground. Best shot I've made in a while.
  3. Found this morning, on the ground, just under the edge of a corrugated sheet. No eggs yet but the corrugated sheet has only been there a couple of weeks so the nest must be new.
  4. "Look at that old man, he looks like an old ape" "Look at those two apes, that must be where they live"... Was it national geographic ? Wasn't my favourite though, I just remember it for some reason.
  5. You did well billy, it's been a bit gusty today.
  6. Cracking stuff kilbs. Thanks for sharing.
  7. I Dont see anything funny here I hope you okay !!! Probably enough energy to blind somebody and that's just something to be aware of for safety reasons of course. At that range however, a 12 ft lb air rifle would have no practical use, that's all, no offence meant fella.
  8. You're right, they'll be lucky to be there for long in the open like that.
  9. Looking good, let us know how you get on.
  10. The blackbirds nest that I posted on 17th April is on its second batch. I didn't notice until today, when I saw the male bird going in and out of the nest site. Got the steps out to have a look and the second brood have hatched. Also while I had the steps out I checked a bird box in a nearby silver birch and was surprised to find that it's also in use.
  11. That's what I'd have gone with ideally, but what about the size 3 @14mm 15 grams? Too heavy maybe?
  12. Thanks for that, what size or sizes would be a good choice do you think?
  13. It works, try 150ml of 2 stroke to 30 litres of diesel.
  14. Back to his house, how'ya think he got there? Lol.....
  15. you can get them with an air rifle, but you'd need to change your approach to them if they've wised up to the one you're using. I haven't got any feeders set up down there but I can shoot them from my truck as they forage about on the ground, not normally within airgun range though. I've hit them hard with a shotgun over the last couple of years though drey poking.I checked out a large wood that I've got shooting permission on last year, intending to return with an air rifle but I've had too many other jobs to do that I haven't got around to it yet, I'm thinking now that I must get back up
  16. Nice one fella, let us know how you get on. Is it an airgun job? Some of the land I shoot, I need hmr for a chance of getting a few squirrels because you can't get near them, they've wised up I reckon.
  17. 12 ft lb air rifle, 100 yards? Lol.......
  18. I've got the 400 model, no problems with it and it does what I need from it.
  19. Good find and great photo. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Looks like a good plan, are those moulds easy enough to use with regard to pouring?
