  1. I started off gently holding the collar especially if your expecting some thing there just to get the pattern going
  2. When I started mine lamping last year we started off slip. He took to it good just a little wait command before i put the lamp on. but every thing was a bit rushed if there was a rabbit i found me self sending him too soon. Light on theres a rabbit in range away you go Because he was young and keen once given the ok he would blast off even if the rabbit was running straight towards us. Many a time that ended with a head on and a rabbit being killed stone dead by shear impact the silly bugger. I wanted him to wait and think about things weighing up the situation as the rabbit came o

  7. Out with the lamp Friday night and managed 2 out of 4. Very good runs though and gave the dog a stretch out. Dew on the grass and clear skies so not good conditions. Out with the ferret Saturday morning but not a good spot with just a bit of scent about. Was more of a training session than any thing and just a walk around with a few pics lol another epic block buster he was listening that day lol Sunday morning we nipped across the road by the dual carriage way. Kept the dog on a rope so he could get in the hedge. One thing he has done this winter now is
  8. Excellent Micky some precise work there
  9. I use mine for ferreting and his very good. Superb nose and quiet around the holes and good with the nets. Can leave him mind one side of a hedge while i go the other etc. His very keen mind and when fresh scent about I may as well hold save me breath. Though if I time it right I can still get through to him some times His a good lad very fond of him and his a 1/4 bull
  10. This reminds me must cut some hazel be spring in the blink of an eye
  11. Good health is a bit of a lottery and smoking seems to be a gamble you might get lucky or you might not. Personally I would prefer to stack the odds in my favour and not smoke. I might get flattened tomorrow by a lorry but I can't do much about that. I don't drink either because its turns me into an arse so not touched a drop for best part of a decade. I do enjoy a cuppa though lol
