  3. Luckily I am happy to pop our for an hour and chase only one rabbit. I get a lot of pleasure out of the whole performance and with me and my dog performance is the right term
  4. I got started extra earlier so got a couple first. Seems the best plan
  5. I assumed they went on point then on command hit the cover once you were ready with the gun or a slyly placed net ? I also picture that as a marking dog for ferreting that would be perfect way of marking
  6. Yes some thing hit one of my permissions and it got the farmers pet rabbits too. But as a rule mixy would only affect that spot but this time it has covered a hell of a large area. A dam good few square miles. Just the odd one left now. Great shame was walking it all summer and looking forward to the sport through winter. It hit just as the season started.
  7. Yes it was better than the others on youtube as they don't go into detail much. I have done it a few times and as a rule it ends up a mess but it soon tidies up once you whack bit of string around it. I used Tiercel's recipie here http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/263226-stuffed-rolled-rabbit/ It is one of my favourites and tastes great. Worth doing I find
  8. I know a few follow this fella but those that don't his just done a deboning video and very good too
  9. what a cracking spot. Nice pair of dogs too Won't be long that terrier will hear the rumble under ground and see a bolt in front and it will be sold. Thats what happened to mine. I remember every second of it and that was 30 odd years ago

It is interesting to see peoples opinions and that is all it is. I think he done the dog proud looked after it too a ripe old age and did what he thought right. My self I prefer to keep to my self on a good day let alone a bad one. When I did the deed with my little jr I spent the rest of the morning driving around leaning on gates looking at places we went and thought of the good times and end of an era. We all have our ways
  13. I don't dig but you folks that do must be dam reassuring to know they are there if needed
  14. nets and stuff in the rucksack and in the shoulder bag I had a long rope as I planed to ferret a hedge by the dual carriageway and was going to work the dog off it. But decided to save it for another day
  15. I really love it. Don't care what we catch as long as the animals perform half tidy and I get them home in one piece. I wouldn't turn me nose up at an easy hole now and again though
  16. Practice plenty in the day setting it and also from both directions. When you do your first night drops try and pick relatively clean ground until your confidence grows. One little twig or bramble can seem a right disaster in the dark until you get used to things. But like tc says keep going even if you have to write off a few yards in a heap and peg out the rest. The book peg to peg is worth getting too https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/1846890586/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1479160335&sr=8-1&keywords=long+netting%5D I was lucky to have an hour with tc when I first sta

Well better to have people thinking your an over sentimental rather than a cruel sod.
  19. Yes it is interesting. As soon as I saw the word line I thought it would be in america. I used to say to my nan when I was a kid just off to check my trap line. Poor woman put up with a lot lol

I was wondering that too it gave the impression it may have been struggling to get out too the toilet. To be honest I let my beddy/whippet go a bit too far. It is difficult though
  21. bit like the schoolie bass some times if your using lug its hard to get through them. But a big old clam or a whole squid sorts that but then your targeting the big fish
