terryd replied to JohnGalway's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking

not so much ferreting more of maintenance work Did some barb wire removal on one of my perms. One side of the wood is fine but the other has nice strands running knee height. It would only be a matter of time before the shiny fella decapitated him self. out the way so one less thing to worry about we had a wander about but couldn't pin any thing down today then home for a doze he will have to start wearing a hat if he gets any thinner on top no doze for me though fitted the new run connector me mate made in work chuffed with it and works a treat be handy i

bloody good group that I see they even doing breakfasts in one. Never thought of that one Bacon should always be crispy that's the law Gonna show this to the old spunker in the canteen at work, his bacon is either raw or charcoaled, it's enough to give you the arsehole yea nothing worse when you fancy a nice bacon roll. You get presented with half cooked bacon in a ropey white bap with no butter or marge

did some cheeks this week very nice and tender

I have done some nice chilli con carnie and bolognese. Lovely deep flavours. Also a lamb joint works well. If you throw in some stock and spuds, carrots etc in good size chunks. Then when you get home just fish every thing out and turn stock in to gravy you got nice quick dinner rather than a stew. I tend to use high for most things to make sure they are nice and soft. High is the same temp as low but it reaches temp quicker

I think if its shallow and they hear you crawling around on top the nerves get the better of them

Great video Doug as all ways. The dogs doing well too

My dog acts an arse on a lead but off his very soft just stupid. He met a pug by accident one day and went and stood over the poor thing. It promptly snapped at him and he ran off and hid behind a tree. I was well chuffed at his response and much better than the alternative

Nice frosty morning and good weather. We had a quiet weekend last week. But today decided to try some ground where he might get a run to test his leg. Straight away he flushed a rabbit which headed up into the wood which leads to a big main road so I got him back. We started working our way into the fields and he gave a nice mark on an easy set of holes So popped the young jill in and the dog was ready wasn't long and the rabbit was neaty pursed in the hedge. I need a better camera so we started working away along and the dog was covering the hedge reall

Fine dog and a fine day. I know what you mean about the speed too. Mine is the same terrain permitting he reels them in with in seconds
-
yes exactly sure they would put the lives on the line for the kid on a good day.

we are not pressing any thing but if some one starts a thread saying there is a god then some one is going to say no there is not. I think there is not and all this church lark baffles me with all the praying. But if it helps and makes people feel good so be it. But I doubt any one up there is listening

Have a good day then Jok and fun it is too. Just been sorting me gear out and getting leaves all over the carpet while the wife is out ready for tomorrow morning and an hour or two
-
Very true Jok. It was a 3 pronged attack.Purse nets which if they didn't purse may slow enough for the dog failing that these fella's were ready and waiting
-
so one day on the news they have poor kids being killed by dogs the next they encourage folks to let a few pit bulls to crawl all over your toddlers http://www.msn.com/en-gb/video/watch/toddler-shares-adorable-bond-with-pitbull-pets/vi-AAkqadm not just the fact of the breed sure they are great about the kid but there's a big what if.

thats one hedge I might skip on my own unless I could get in it. The rabbits don't come easy in this neck of the woods for sure lol
-
That means my dog hates me
-
It made the poor girl feel better before she went so worth every penny from that point of view. But realistically how the hell will they ever safely defrost them as it were. Then next they have to be able to bring people back from the dead. No small ask to say the least. Next they have to fix what ever killed them in the first place. One chap has even got his head in a seperate freezer. He was being very hopeful indeed
-
I would stick with what you have and not try change it. I had a beddy whippet which was so light mouthed I thought she had some thing wrong with her jaws lol. But over time she soon learned to just hang on a bit better. Not a scratch on most her her rabbits. I wouldn't worry about a bit of fumbling my self better than crunch crunch
-
lol Jok doubt they would starve maybe just go veggy
-
Yea I know what you mean open holes are very rare around here. The dog is a good one. He has a few issues but he does me
-
any way the guy needs locking up for life or hanging if it was an option
