  1. Sounds like a natural so never leave home with out a shovel lol
  2. Aye superb that is whats its all about
  3. I think its pot luck. Impossible with my hedges to not make a nose and the rabbit knows dam well things are not looking good and you can even hear them thumping at times. Some times they even slip out before I get the nets down I do find as the season ends and they start to breed in earnest they then start sticking and that is my que to pack up
  4. All I do notice is at this time of year the rabbits are hammering the bark on the trees
  5. oh and you use the gopro studio to get the film offer and its easy to tinker and cut bits out and join together etc then you can whack on youtube. Seems to lose a lot of quality though on youtube.
  6. I got the hero 3 + silver a year or two ago and it does me. Solid and reliable https://www.amazon.co.uk/GoPro-HERO3-Silver-Camera-Camcorder/dp/B00F3F0EIU battery lasts 2 hours then you can just change it. Poor sound though but i do use it in the water proof case you need to use it in a normal case apparently if you want better sound I would imagine the newer models are top notch. Now this would normally be an excuse to insert boring video here but i think you have all suffered enough

Yea I am really careful where I put my handmade longnet
  8. Funny enough ferreting last weekend The dog saw 3 squirrels run down the tree and into a hole at the bottom. Now i could have had some fun but as the bank went around it turned into a whooping great cliff face so had disaster written all over it so had to lead the dog up
  9. Keep him i bet if you asked the dog lol he would rather stay with you and have one walk a day than move on
  10. yes same as vin my collar wouldn't turn on but a little whack and its ok since
  11. oh that looks horrible glad it went well for you
  12. Cheers folks. Yes his a very chatty dog skycat with his looks and actions. Quite comical at times. This morning I was peeping through the cover to see where he was and I caught him peeping through the cover to see where I was and we ended up staring at each other through a bush. Made me chuckle
  13. Had a lay in this morning till about 8 as we was a bit knackered with early starts and lamping. But a quick coffee and ferret boxed and away. Every thing was beautiful this morning with the frost and fog and sun breaking through Straight away when we entered the wood he picked up scent and was out of site with in few seconds. He could have gone in one of 3 directions so I waited and listened but nothing. Then I gave a whistle and he came flying around the corner. Saw me and stopped then turned and led me to a patch of bramble that obviously held the rabbit. To thick to d
  14. yes hopefully. I try search but couldn't find it. Smart job and cheap too
  15. does look a nice litle fella. Shame you are getting rid but good luck finding a decent home
  16. one of the guys on here built some thing like a cracking job but I can't remember what he used to search for the post. Cost peanuts too using bits and bobs but he new what he was at
  17. Stunning pictures Doug and every thing looks content apart from the the rabbits
  18. But its a start and lets you weigh things up and move on from there and helps familiarity. Just helpful if your setup is geared that way
  19. if you keep the dog in the house and the hutch is in the yard every time the dog goes out for a piddle or what ever it gets used to seeing the ferrets. That is helpful to have for starters. Don't leave unattended obviously
  20. Amazing and nice to see and just goes to show proper hunting folk don't feel they need to kill every thing in site. Be nice to see some more pictures of it. Had a funny encounter with a hare last year. Walking the dog down a track on his lead and he stopped dead and went to sniff some thing and jumped back and carried on walking. I turned to see what made him jump and there was a big old hare squatting there. By this time the dog had spun round because he must have scented what it was and nearly took me arm off as it made a run for it. So he must have dam near sniffed this hare on the nose a
  21. end of feb or maybe into march as its a long summer. Going to get the odd pregnant doe it can't be helped. Then again depends on your ground you have to manage things a bit
  22. Thats unusually never known it too happen. I used to ferret rats with the little jills and apart from the odd knick the ferrets were ok. They do pack a punch though and gave the old terriers hooter a good slash or two. Great shame
